The Murdoch family, famous for helming one of the world’s most influential news empires, is locked in a secret court battle over succession and control, according to a New York Times report citing sealed court documents.

For years, public intrigue has swirled around what would happen to the Murdoch assets after the death of patriarch Rupert Murdoch, 93, a powerful right-wing media mogul who has for years led Fox Corporation and News Corporation, which publishes The Wall Street Journal and New York Post.

The family’s vast empire is worth $19.5 billion, according to Forbes estimates – with its behind-the-scenes feuding believed to be the inspiration for the hit HBO series “Succession.”

At the center of this latest battle is the Murdoch family trust, which holds key voting shares in both Fox Corp and News Corp. Rupert Murdoch’s four eldest children – Lachlan, James, Elisabeth and Prudence – share four votes in the trust equally.

Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo is spinning a baseless conspiracy theory, saying that to her, “it just feels like” there is a network attached to U.S. government law enforcement agencies, along with the media, “trying to stop” Donald Trump, before she asked a sitting U.S. Senator to “stop the free press.”

Bartiromo in her Wednesday interview with U.S. Senator Rand Paul went as far as to suggest top tech firms including Google and Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, had intentionally censored a photo of Donald Trump taken just after the assassination attempt earlier this month. Her remarks led the Kentucky Republican lawmaker to explain the First Amendment to the veteran journalist after she asked that Congress “do something” to prevent tech platforms from censoring certain posts or information.

“It just feels like there is a network in place in all these corners, whether it be government, FBI, Secret Service or media, that is trying to stop Trump,” declared Bartiromo, a staunch supporter of the ex-president.

Does this piece of real-estate look familiar? It’s the Kirkeby mansion in Bel Air - better known as the home of the Clampetts on “The Beverly Hillbillies.”

An agreement was made between Filmways Productions and Arnold Kirkeby to film the exterior of the Kirkeby mansion. The agreement stipulated that the grounds had to be cleaned up after filming and the address of the Kirkeby mansion was never to be divulged to the public.
Just before the fourth season got underway, Mrs. Kirkeby broke the agreement her late husband had made with Filmways Productions since the mansion’s address was leaked which caused an endless stream of tourists who were looking for Jed and Granny. Filmways was not allowed to film the mansions exterior or film any long shots of the mansion grounds after that.

The Kirkeby Mansion is still currently standing at 750 Bel Air Road in Bel-Air in almost the exact same condition (the exterior anyway) it was in the 1960s when The Beverly Hillbillies was filmed. It is, sadly, no longer visible from the street.

After being on the market for two years, it finally sold for $150M to Lachlan Murdoch, son of media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

Full disclosure, I do not enjoy cooking. It was a chore for me for decades, like cleaning and taking the dogs to the vet. Now that I'm by myself for the first time in 45 years, I do not cook and I do not intend to start cooking.

I have a gentleman friend who loves to cook. He's in Chicago so he sends me photos of the wonderful meals he whips up. I send him a thumbs up and photos of my bowl of Cheerios topped with blueberries.

Too also, my breakfast is a hell of a lot healthier.
