This reminds me of Chernobyl, where the decision makers got their positions by being friends with the Politburo.

The two are hard to tell apart: both make certain energy interests happy.

Because with such a decision, nothing will matter anymore.
Effectively, the fucks on SCOTUS have already given him practical immunity. The rest is scribbling.

These decisions could incentivize voters to swing the House. I hope. At least those who haven't been dropped from the rolls.

Outside of my family, you guys, and two or three friends, no one I talk to has any clue what SCOTUS does. My perfectly reasonable massage therapist can't understand why Biden "let" Roe fall; had no idea that SCOTUS was invovled.

Devil in the details.

MSNBC initial report that communications between potus and staff/officials cannot be used at trial, because presumption of immunity.

Which is not a thing.

Let the President violate the law, let him exploit the trappings of his office for personal gain, let him use his official power for evil ends. Because if he knew that he may one day face liability for breaking the law, he might not be as bold and fearless as we would like him to be. That is the majority's message today. Even if these nightmare scenarios never play out, and I pray they never do, the damage has been done. The relationship between the President and the people he serves has shifted irrevocably. In every use of official power, the President is now a king above the law."

Biden needs to order Seal Team 6 to take the conservative justices into custody and transfer them to Guantanamo. Forever.

I am oddly angry with the various lefty legal talking heads who predicted that Roberts would rise to the task and give Chutkan the go-ahead.

It's an interesting psychological reaction, to be most angry at those nearest to one's own opinions, when one feels those nearest have let one down.

Mark Joseph Stern @mjs_DC wrote: Today's decision is about as big a win for Trump as he could have possibly wanted for expected. The conservative supermajority creates a sweeping new kind of "presidential immunity" that will insulate MANY of his allegedly criminal acts from indictment or prosecution. Just huge.

Justice Sotomayor's dissent is one of the most terrified and terrifying pieces of judicial writing I've ever encountered—she lists the criminal acts that presidents can now take with immunity and says "the president is now a king above the law." https://supremecourt.gov/opinions/23pdf/23-939_e2pg.pdf

I'm joining the chorus of voices calling on God Emperor Biden to openly assassinate the conservative Supreme Court Justices, as an official act to protect the country. Of course.

It will come down to judging whether or not any presidential act is in his official capacity or not. And THAT ruling will come down to whatever court it's in. So if Project 2025 become an official presidential doctrine, then all the horrors contained therein will be legal act of the president.

Can Biden appoint "acting" Supreme court justices, like Trump did with cabinet members? No need for senate confirmation.
Do the right thing. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest. - Mark Twain
