Waking up comfortably, but still groggy. Surgery apparently went fine, and I’ll never need to worry about my appendix again.

One of these days I’ll post a proper introduction, but not today.

Cheers :bighug:

Glad to hear you're on the mend and you're getting the good drugs.
I've always thought of appendicitis as a young person's illness.

Mine bothers me from time to time. Once upon a time I heard that seeds can cause problems. I eat bread with a lot of seeds in it. Maybe I should give up seeded bread.

Wait, so why did you have to go from a small hospital to a big one? Can't a small hospital do a simple appendix surgery? Anyway, it's good you woke up. Keep doing that, please. I don't care - anyone says you're woke, you give them a big

Thanks all! My partner is keeping me company until they chase her out. Typing seems to set off the IV alarm, so prolly won’t be posting more tonight.

Thank you for not trying to remove your own appendix.

Glad it went well! Have a speedy recovery! :bighug:

My appendix almost ruptured when I was 20. My parents were out of town. They didn’t leave a contact number because my dad insisted to my mum that there wouldn’t be an emergency. He probably never heard the end of that

Glad you made it through. My appendix ruptured about 15 years ago. I went into the hospital at about 5 am, after not being able to sleep much the prior night because of the pain. Right before going to the hospital, I called my sister - a doctor on the East Coast - who, when I described the pain and its location, told me that I was suffering from appendicitis, and I needed to go to the hospital immediately.

The surgery happened in the mid-morning and I was discharged and able to go home with my partner in the evening. The most interesting thing to me was that there was virtually no scarring - the appendix was removed by tiny robot arms inserted though holes made in my abdomen.

More likely, chancery would have sued his appendix for intentional infliction of emotional distress - and won! :towel:

And how are you sure he's not going to file suit when he gets discharged tomorrow?

Mine was unceremoniously removed on an emergency basis mid-1970s by a doctor I estimated to have been old enough to have learned the trade during the Spanish-American War, or earlier. The scar is vertical and at least 6 inches long. My hospital stay was 7 days because I kept vomiting. Ah, the good old days.

Hope you feel better soon.
