Former President Donald Trump often complains that the massive legal team he's assembled to bring him through four criminal and two civil cases are overpaid, according to a new report.

Some of Trump's lawyers were told not to charge more than $750 an hour after his political advisers blanched at their bills, the Washington Post reported Monday.

Their demanding client is loath to take advice and bad news from his cases sometimes spurs him to change his story, sources told the Post.

“That’s the biggest issue of representing him," said a person who has worked with Trump in the past. "It’s impossible to get him to agree to a unified set of facts."

Not only are these attorneys faced with the unprecedented situation of having a former president as a client, they're also trying to work with one on the campaign trail, the Post notes.

Even when he pays you hundreds of dollars an hour to give him honest legal advice ... even when he tries to pretend he's having a normal conversation with you ... even when he pretends to really think about his answers to your questions ... he's just lying to your face, the same as he does to everyone else.


And this makes perfect sense, of course. Trump can never be honest with anyone at any time, or it gives that person power over Trump. If he isn't able to lie directly to your face, he will run away from you and whatever situation you appeared in.

My sister suffers from early-onset Alzheimer’s. She was part of that study for the drug that recently got approved by the FDA. She was in the thick of it when Trump first gave the man, woman camera speech. She said that as part of the study, she had to take the test every couple of weeks. Sometimes she could pass it and sometimes she couldn’t. But she thought he was a fucking idiot for thinking it’s any measure of intelligence or mental acuity.

Decades ago, my mother was put in a psychiatric hospital because of her behavior. No one mentioned Alzheimer back then. Finally, she went home with a "rare" problem. I was working to keep my job and finish my college while caring for my mom.

I've been scared for decades that I'll have it. And I may have it.
