The Sphere las Vegas.

There is a misunderstanding of how it was built. It's not with LED "screens" like you have in your home. Close-ups of how climbing show they are LED discs the size of hockey pucks spaced ~1ft from each other and mounted on a frame that is perfect for 🪜 climbing like a ladder if not afraid of heights.

A relative of mine and partner went to the U2 show tonight with a couple friends. They paid over $1,000 per ticket.

Hope they had money left to afford refreshments.

i woke up this morning and scanned the news on my tablet. read a couple of posts here and came up with a pithy, smart reply to something that was probably going to change the universe as we know it, but decided I needed to sit down at an actual keyboard rather than trying to use the tiny little keys on the on screen keyboard while lyong on my side trying to fend off the cat vying for my attention.

so I get up, rub some hot water over my face and armpits, throw the cat outside, grab a donut for first breakfast, climb upstairs to the keyboard, sit down, wake up the computer in time to catch AVG updating some drivers, upen up fogbow, and can't rember what thread I was in, let alone what it was that I was gonna post.

So the universe is just gonna hafta go on just like it always has I guess.

Sorry.

Question for the group - If every bar dropped their food service, wouldn't they all now be vegan?

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. —
A small plane crashed near Interstate 75 in Collier County at Mile Marker 105 on Friday (also known as the Golden Gate Parkway exit).

According to the FAA, a Bombardier Challenger 600 jet crashed on I-75 near Naples at around 3:15 p.m.

Five people were reportedly on board.

All southbound lanes have been shut down at the mile marker. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the plane collided with a vehicle as it came down.
The plane was traveling down from Ohio, according to the Naples Airport.

NBC2's Dave Elias confirmed that the Naples Airport Tower was in contact with the plane before the crash.

In audio from the Air Traffic Control, the pilot can be heard calling in an emergency. The pilot said lost both engines and were two miles away from the Naples Airport, before saying they would not be able to make it.

The plane reportedly lost an engine and was scheduled to leave Naples and head to Fort Lauderdale, the Naples Airport said.

The Federal Aviation Administration said I-75 will be closed in both directions between MM 105 and 107 for at least 24 hours.

Well, we know it's not Taylor's plane and it's Naples so I am good with this. Did these wealthy jerks ever consider flying commercial instead of charter? Ok.

Well, there are non-vegan drinks such as hot buttered rum, eggnog and various cocktails containing cream or garnishes of shrimp, bacon etc.

Fair point! They put beef base in some Mary mix too. My drinks never more complicated than choosing a lemon or lime.

Hoo boy I was just in Naples. I was at a store right by that airport, too! The only airport in Naples is general aviation (non-commercial - you have to fly into Ft Myers on commercial flights). Closing i75 will be a nightmare! It's high season right now and traffic is awful.

All eyes on Super Bowl Sunday as Taylor Swift wraps up four-night run in Tokyo

https://www.cnn.com/2024/02/10/entertai ... index.html
After four nights of sold-out shows at the iconic Tokyo Dome, Taylor Swift is expected to head straight into another mammoth journey: a long-haul flight back to the United States, with the clock ticking before the Super Bowl kicks off Sunday evening.

That is a question that has riveted audiences for weeks: will Swift make it back in time to attend the game, where boyfriend Travis Kelce is playing for the Kansas City Chiefs?

Swift’s last concert in Tokyo, rounding out the Japan leg of her multi-continent Eras Tour, ended Saturday night local time – prompting fans around the world to frantically calculate whether she had enough time to travel back to Las Vegas.

Japan’s position works in Swift’s favor. As one of the first countries to the west of the international dateline, Tokyo is a full 17 hours ahead of Las Vegas.

When she finishes her concert, that’s still early dawn hours Saturday morning in Las Vegas, leaving her plenty of time ahead to get back if she leaves right after the concert.
I am no expert but I have heard that in addition to the possible appearance of Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl there is also going to be a football game.

No really, that's what I have heard.

Thank goodness Odell and the Ravens aren't in it.

And why does Taylor have to be there for kick-off anyway? So what if she's late.

Who will pay attention to a mere football game if Taylor Swift hasn't arrived by kickoff time? The players on both teams will refuse to take the field. They will be glued to their smartphones tracking her progress.

Best Wishes to All for a Happy Taylor Swift Sunday tomorrow!

Although its starting to lose favor, most wine is still 'fined' with egg white.

So probably not.

“Taylor Swift Super Bowl cake made by baker”:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c25qpjjpxq9o

“A baker has created a sculpture of Taylor Swift out of cake ahead of the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Lara Mason's video of her making the giant sculpture has so far clocked up more than three million views on TikTok.
Using almost 130kg (287lbs) of ingredients, Mrs Mason sculpted the cake in 38 hours over a week.
In the sculpture, Swift was represented holding the Super Bowl trophy above her head while wearing a Kansas City Chiefs sweater - in support of her boyfriend, Chiefs player Travis Kelce.”

So, for the record, is Travis, who does pro-vax commercials.

He's also a wonderful football player, who just really enjoys playing the game like any big-kid-at-heart should. I'm not a Chiefs fan, but I like watching that kid play.

Too much emphasis on Tay-Tay, not enough on the guy. He deserves a bit better.

Taylor Swift lands in Los Angeles ahead of Super Bowl 2024 after long travel day

https://nypost.com/2024/02/10/sports/ta ... bowl-2024/
Taylor Swift touched down in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, according to multiple reports, one day before boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Chiefs face off against the 49ers in Super Bowl 2024.

The pop megastar, 34, was seen exiting her private jet at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) following a lengthy trip from Japan, where she performed four shows at the Tokyo Dome as part of her blockbuster Eras Tour.

It is unknown if Swift will fly to Las Vegas tonight or stay at her Beverly Hills home and take the hour flight to Sin City tomorrow before the big game.

Either way, Swift now has plenty of time to recharge before a 6:30 p.m. Eastern kickoff on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium.
