I thought we had an electric car thread, but I couldn’t find it, so here we go.
Electric cars are heavy man. And guardrails aren’t designed to hold them back. I read that guardrails are designed for a max 5k pound vehicle, when these electric trucks are 7k, 9k, more! Here’s what happens when they hit a guardrail. The second impact where I expected it to bounce off the rail is the one that really struck me. So to speak.

I'm actually a little impressed at how well the cab of that Rivian held up.
(I was one of the first IT people through the door at the Little Factory on the Prairie where these are built loooong before it was sold to Rivian.)
