When CDs were invented, I stopped listening to records and our turntables sat unused. I was clearing out things I no longer used this past summer and, knowing that vinyl records are now a thing with GenZ, I texted my three GenZ nieces asking if any were interested in having one of the turntables. The 23-year old niece who attended the recent Taylor Swift concert here in The Cities replied right away and got the nice German made turntable I had. The 25-year old niece got the fairly nice turntable my husband had in college.
When I saw my nephew this past fall he was telling me that his 13-year old daughter - who attended the Taylor Swift concert this summer - bought a stereo system so she could listen to vinyl records.
So yes, it's a thing with younger folks.
Edited to add - You can buy the Taylor Swift 4 Vinyl Records Collection - Fearless, Red, Speak Now, and 1989 - for $208.74 from Amazon.
