Court records show Jayson Boebert is suspected of misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief. He and the congresswoman were involved in an altercation last weekend.

GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo. — Jayson Boebert, ex-husband of Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of misdemeanor assault after the two got into a public altercation over the weekend.

Court records show Jayson Boebert is suspected of misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief. Garfield County jail records indicate Boebert was processed and released Tuesday. His bond was set at $1,500.

Lauren Boebert's Ex-Husband Assaulted Eldest Son Tyler, Shoved Thumb in His Mouth: Cops
Westword has obtained copies of the warrants that led to Jayson Boebert's arrest on Tuesday, with them showing that he allegedly assaulted his son Tyler.

Representative Lauren Boebert's ex-husband, Jayson, was taken into custody on two separate arrest warrants Tuesday — one for his reported restaurant fight with the Colorado congresswoman, and another for allegedly assaulting their eldest son, Tyler, during an argument at their house in Garfield County, the arrest affidavit says.

Tyler, who turns nineteen on March 21, reported the incident to police at around 1:08 a.m. Tuesday, per the affidavit, which was obtained by Westword on Wednesday. The report states that "Jayson threw Tyler's phone across the house" during an argument about laying one of his other children "down to sleep." Jayson allegedly "pushed Tyler to the ground and pushed his thumb into his mouth," the affidavit says. "Jayson had a gun, it was a rifle. Jayson was carrying the rifle."

When cops arrived on the scene, Jayson was allegedly inside the home while Tyler was outside. "Jayson was getting into a gray F-350," the affidavit says. "There was possibly a female in the truck with Jayson."

As authorities moved onto the property, "the female was back inside and Jayson was in the truck by himself." Fearing that Jayson was still armed with the rifle, "law enforcement decided it was best to stage at the beginning of the driveway for officer safety reasons. Due to Jayson grabbing the rifle when Tyler was on the phone with dispatch, it was unknown if Jayson was setting up for an ambush because he knew law enforcement would be responding, which was another reason law enforcement staged."

Apparently I'm on the Official Boebert Competitor List. Anyway, recieved this via email:

We have no time to be coy about any of this, so I’ll be straight with you: we’re in the position of having to unexpectedly run against Lauren Boebert simply because she is desperate to bank a lifetime pension on the taxpayers’ dime.

If Boebert is sent back to Congress just one more time, she will then be eligible for a congressional pension that will pay her out for the rest of her life—all courtesy of the American taxpayer.

Think about it: Boebert has no other compelling reason to want to be a member of Congress than lining her own pockets.

Boebert has no interest in serving the public. She clearly doesn’t care about the voters that sent her to Congress in the first place. She dropped them like a sack of potatoes when they demanded accountability from her about her chaotic and lewd public conduct.

Boebert definitely doesn’t care about governing. She is one of the least polished, least prepared members of Congress. Marjorie Taylor Greene looks like a learned scholar compared to what Lauren Boebert brings to the job.

It really is as simple as it looks: She wants the pension. She wants the glory. And she wants to flex whatever power she can acquire on anyone who disagrees with her mean-spirited outlook on life.

Congressional pensions are much like any decent corporate pension.

The employee is vested after five years.

They don't begin collecting their pension until age 65.

The pension amount is based on years of service and the highest three years of salary.

It is not true that former congress-critters begin collecting a pension equal to their full salary immediately upon leaving Congress. I believe that, even a 30-year congressman collects only about 80 percent of their final salary. A six-year member would get a small pension and then, only when they reach age 65.

The congressional pension plan is a good one, but not that good.

Lauren Boebert’s First Debate Went as Spectacularly Badly as You’d Expect

Representative Lauren Boebert did not receive the warm welcome she was hoping for after switching Colorado districts, with her rivals accusing her of being a “carpetbagger” during the first primary debate.

Boebert, who currently represents the Centennial State’s 3rd district, announced in December that she would run for election in the 4th district in 2024, instead. The decision comes after she was reelected in 2022 by such a narrow margin that the election nearly went to a recount. Her public image has taken a massive battering in recent months, as well.

The far-right congresswoman attempted to defend her decision during the debate Thursday night, saying she made the switch because she wanted a “fresh start” for her family.

“I am here to earn your vote. This is not a coronation,” she said. “The crops may be different in Colorado’s 4th District, but the values are not.”

But her opponents—and potential new constituents—were having none of it. In an informal straw poll, Boebert ranked fifth out of the eight candidates. While on stage, none of her opponents said they would support her if they ended up dropping out.

At one point, state Representative Mike Lynch asked Boebert, “Can you give the definition of ‘carpetbagger’ to me?”

This isn’t the first time Boebert has been labeled an opportunist. When she announced she was switching districts, state Representative Richard Holtorf also slammed Boebert for “carpetbagging.”

“Seat shopping isn’t something the voters look kindly upon,” Holtorf, another of Boebert’s primary opponents, said in a statement. “If you can’t win in your home, you can’t win here.”
