Of course, I will be arriving just as Andy is leaving. About to head out for a week-and-a-half of camping a bit north of Pitttsburgh (Pennsic, for those that know).

Very cool! My daughter used to go years ago.

Awesome! Was she a Pittsburgh native at the time? I've been going since '96 (Pennsic 25), with the exception of last year and the plague years where it was cancelled.

Other than the few years she was in Ann Arbor getting her architectural degree, she has always been a Pittsburgh native.

Obviously, I'm back from Alaska.

I have not disappeared but maybe I should start thinking about what future entry I want to make in a thread since I have tended to stay close to home the last few years. And since, apparently, I only go to places starting with an M:

Michigan
Minnesota
Maine
Montana
Mountains (that is how I squeeze Colorado into this)

I need to figure out which one to do (besides Michigan which is a given). Minnesota and watch the ships in Duluth (have not been there since my grandmother's funeral in 2016, wow how time flies) or Maine (which I have not been to since 2015).

My other option, I suppose, would be to go on a genealogy trip through Missouri and Mississippi (specifically the Natchez area) to ensure I stick with M's.

A genealogy trip to the UK would put me around, um, Manchester.

OK, it might be time to worry. We’re stuck in the Kathmandu airport and might not make our connecting flight from Delhi to Dulles. It’s not clear.

But whatever happens, this trip to Nepal has been lifechanging.

OK, it might be time to worry. We’re stuck in the Kathmandu airport and might not make our connecting flight from Delhi to Dulles. It’s not clear.

But whatever happens, this trip to Nepal has been lifechanging.

So.

When we arrived at the Kathmandu airport the woman checking us in said that the flight was delayed one hour. No biggie, we thought, we have a two and a half hour layover. Then they announced another hour delay. That’s cutting it close. And we were about 20 minutes late leaving after the two-hour delay.

When we arrived in Delhi a guy from the airline said, everyone going to Washington, D.C., follow me! We hoped he’d get us through the immigration line quickly, but, no. It isn’t at all clear to me why he had us running through the airport; the flight to DC had already left.

That was at 2:30. It’s now 4:45, and I’m no closer to getting home. They said they’re trying to find alternative flights, but everything is fully booked. We might be here a couple of days.

Meanwhile, other passengers are getting really nasty. It’s getting pretty ugly in here.

I’m trapped in no-man’s-land. I’m in the Delhi airport. I can’t leave the airport because I don’t have a visa. I can’t enter the main terminal because I don’t have a boarding pass. I can’t get a boarding pass until the United ticket agent shows up at five pm! It’s now 10:13 am, and I’ve been here since 2:30 am.
