Oh, Gregg, I'm so sorry to hear this! I'm glad you were able to get care, and I hope you recover soon. Is Biscuit ok, too? (I hope that's ok to ask)

Now that things have had a chance to calm down a little, I can't help but wonder if Biscuit is taking the fall for some other toe-bitin' mongreloid pup, figgerin' that she's just so darn cute, who could ever be mad at her?

But it's just a suspicion. I never did like girlies who are cute enough to melt the paint off the walls. :?

I am doing pretty well, and I just managed to get the Regiment back to The Well Armed Bunker Complex on Sunday, and there was some drama :bag: involved with the neighbor who had them. We had to eventually call the Sheriff after my initial, and more drastic operation was turned down by calmer heads...

Everyone is now home safe, although the ramp to the bed has been removed. Biscuit is on Double Secret Probation but has made an appointment with the tattoo parlor to get a "Mission Toe Tattoo" on her side. :cantlook: Root Beer thinks we're both crazy :fingerwag: and just wants little sister to quit barking and go to sleep as it's her fault they now have to sleep on new beds of their own...

I"m glad you've been able to welcome Biscuit back and found a way you can be safer around her. Poor Root Beer! I'm sure she'll get used to the new sleeping arrangements soon enough :)

I read last week about dogs trained to alert their diabetic person about a drop in blood sugar (the story was about a child). Biscuit isn’t trained, but she may have sensed and reacted to it without intending harm.

One part of growing old that hasn't entirely sucked: 8 years ago today I started my sepsis/kidney failure tour of the Santa Clara County medical system. I found out a few weeks later that the doctor who admitted me to S.J. Regional didn't think I'd live, but if I did, I'd for sure lose my leg.

Well, 8 years later I'm still on this side of the dirt with my leg still attached. My knees hurt constantly, dialysis 4 days a week is a pain, I have to think about everything I eat or drink, and the constant paperwork for MediCal, Medicare A,B,C, & D is ridiculous...but it beats the alternative.

Not to take anything from your issues, E, and being above ground is certainly better than the alternative.

But I've decided on a new fatalistic catch phrase for use when I'm feeling bad about my arthritic hips and back and neck, and my slowly deteriorating jawbone, and my cataracts, and my aching lower back, and my aching upper back and shoulders, and my vericose veins with poor circulation in my legs and ankles, and..., and... I got some kinda enzyme in my liver that the doc says is elevated a little so we're gonna hafta watch that, and..., and...

But who cares? There's people worse off than me and worse things could happen.

Hey, at least I've still got my toe!

Yeah. I'm looking for a word or phrase like that too. Fuck offers the emotion, but adds no context.
