Trump for Speaker of the House! And Poll
The media assumed the Republican party was normal and that after the private meeting the other night where Scalise got the nomination that they would all vote for him him in the open session like parties have always done. That was a poor assumption. This Republican party is not normal and cannot govern.

So the Republicans want help from Democrats installing this David Duke loving racist piece of shit as Speaker of the House? They can shove that idiocy up their ass.noblepa wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 6:57 pmFIFAReality Check wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 12:10 pm The media assumed the Republican party was normal and that after the private meeting the other night where Scalise got the nomination that they would all vote for him him in the open session like parties have always done. I called the other day when I said the media was anointing Scalise as if he had already been elected Speaker. The problem was they forget we are dealing with anything but a normal political party. The Republicans are a group of nihilists hell bent on blowing up government if they cannot control it.Reality Check wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 12:10 pm The media assumed the Republican party was normal and that after the private meeting the other night where Scalise got the nomination that they would all vote for him him in the open session like parties have always done. Wouldn't Speaker of the House be kind of going backward on the career trajectory? Reminds me of the early Star Trek movies where Captain Kirk kept getting busted. I half expected him to be a Private First Class by Star Trek IV.

Is Jordan that stupid? He always struck me as a sleezy opportunist, but could he possibly be stupid enough to think Biden and Harris could be removed from office in the next 13 months?

I remember, not all that long ago, that there was a joke that, when the Democrats arranged a firing squad, they stood in a circle. Back then, the R's were known for keeping party members in line and voting strictly the way the leadership told them to.Reality Check wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 8:46 amI called the other day when I said the media was anointing Scalise as if he had already been elected Speaker. Now, its the Republicans. Its like trying to herd cats.
The Democrats, OTOH, are staying pretty much together on most issues (at least the important ones).

Maybe he's bought into the Brunsons' belief that, any day now, SCOTUS is going to declare that the 2020 election is null and void and that the court will rule that both Biden and Harris are instantly removed from office.Slim Cognito wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 7:18 pm Is Jordan that stupid?
