I play a lot of open mikes, so I get to hear a lot of amateurs. The range of talent runs from ow-my-freakin’-ears to pretty damn good. I consider myself pretty open to all who show up because, to me at least, making music - even bad music - is an expression of joy. And I’m all for joy - we don’t have enough of it in this world.

But this? Nope. I’ll pass.

Maybe she was singing it in a historic tuning, like Meantone or Pythagorean, and she was in a key that would produce the wolf interval, and she shifted tunings and transposed every 2 notes.

I once sang the beginning of the Beethoven Minuet in G where all of us were singing a quarter-step apart (weird things vocal majors will do backstage while on tour). I am pretty sure it sounded better than her.
