No it isn't. I disagree with people here all the time, and people disagree with me, I do not see any significant pressure to stomp this.
To say (blanket) colleges do not want athletes who also care about gaining an education is the same. BS.
There will always be a degree of generalization when talking about systems and communities. There are historical problems with university athletic programs, and the original comment you were responding to was a statement on a systemic effect of changing how admissions work for athletes and if college athletics could survive it, so I expanded that on the needs (and problems) of college athletics as a system. Not a statement of every single case, but of aggregate behavior by which the system itself is dependent on.

And, finally, at the insistence of Evie the Schnauzer:

Our new dog, Biscuit did not react to the fireworks. Hooray! Pancake doesn't either. Our deceased doggies Rascal and Mickey had severe anxiety with thunderstorms and fireworks.

My town did fireworks on Saturday, June 24. My partner's town had theirs last night. Her dog (a 15-pound terrier/chihuahua mix) seemed fine both times.

A week ago, he didn't shake or try to hide under stuff while the fireworks were happening (we had a great view from the back deck). But, unusually for him, he whined as if he needed to go outside at 3:30am, so I took him out. He made it downstairs and, while waiting for me at the door, had explosive diarrhea all over the doormat. I thought it might have been some food that had gone bad or something that he scavenged something from the floor.

I didn't think it was related to the fireworks until last night, when he had explosive diarrhea again at 4 am and made a huge mess. He's a very Good Boy, so there was no thought of punishing him; it was extraordinarily stressful for him. More sympathy than anything else...

Yeah, that's Dolly. She's been quietly helping people out for a very long time.

Evie has never been all that bothered by fireworks until this year. But last week we had a couple of incredibly violent thunderstorms roll through here in one night along with dozens of close hits. She came over and insisted I hold her until the storms passed which is something she's never done. She's been a little skittish about loud noises ever since. Adam (toy Yorkie), who is kind of sweet but dumb didn't seem to be all that bothered.

The odd thing about Evie is that she tends to sleep with Mrs. Shizzle but comes to me when she's scared. She was glued to my side the entire night.

I wonder what happened to Matt Wuerker. I haven't seen anything new from him since April but he seems to still be around on social media.
