A loan of $1.2 billion has closed on the asset known as the Bank of America Building (555 California Street) in San Francisco, CA. The interest rate is approximately 2%. Thank you!

Vornado Realty Trust Press release On May 10th, the refinancing of the Tree Construction Campus was completed and it was announced that it had “the only decision-making authority”.
“Interest-only loans bear interest rates of LIBOR plus 1.93% (1st to 5th year), LIBOR plus 2.18% (6th year) and LIBOR plus 2.43% (7th year),” the release said. Stated.
‘The loan has been fully extended and will mature in May 2028. Vornado has exchanged its share of the loan for the first three years for a fixed interest rate of 2.26%.
According to the company, the loan will replace the previous $ 533 million loan, which earns interest at a fixed interest rate of 5.10% and was due to mature in September 2021.
According to Volnad, the share of net income from refinancing was about $ 454 million. So Trump was most likely to see about $ 194 million. According to Twitter account @southpaw.

Given all the recent headlines regarding investigations of the Trump Organization, one would think that Steven Roth might want to start disentangling Vornado from Trump, not jumping further into bed with him.

‘Madman … racist, sexist pig’: new book details Obama’s real thoughts on Trump

For much of Donald Trump’s presidency, Barack Obama largely abided by the convention that former presidents do not publicly criticize or attack their successors.
Obama jettisoned any such caution during the 2020 election that put his own vice-president, Joe Biden, in the White House. But behind the scenes, with donors and advisers, Obama was reportedly much more candid.
According to a new book, Obama called Trump a “madman”, a “racist, sexist pig”, “that fucking lunatic” and a “corrupt motherfucker”.
The remarks are reported in Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats’ Campaigns to Defeat Donald Trump by Edward-Isaac Dovere, a staff writer at the Atlantic, which will be published next week. The Guardian obtained a copy.
Extracts of Dovere’s candid reporting have been published elsewhere – including a passage in which the now first lady, Jill Biden, is quoted as saying now Vice-President Kamala Harris should “go fuck herself” after a memorable debate-stage attack on Joe Biden early in the primary.

See, 35 wayward Republicans—they just can’t help themselves. We have much better policy and are much better for the Country, but the Democrats stick together, the Republicans don’t. They don’t have the Romney’s, Little Ben Sasse’s, and Cheney’s of the world. Unfortunately, we do. Sometimes there are consequences to being ineffective and weak. The voters understand!

I'd think the $194 million would be used for trump's share of the renovations. What lender in their right mind would loan trump any unsecured amount of money?Slim Cognito wrote: ↑Thu May 20, 2021 2:08 pmIs that how he's going to finance his new Doral casino DeSantis and the Lege just granted him?bob wrote: ↑Thu May 20, 2021 1:36 pmBuried in the article:“Trump announces he has taken a $1.2B loan against his Bank of America skyscraper”A billion is going toward building renovations, debt servicing, and the building's primary owner, Vornado Realty Trust. So Trump was most likely to see about $ 194 million.
Largo al factotum.
Re: trump (the former guy)
As the article explains, it actually isn't a loan, but rather a bond sale. So the estimated $194M is what's leftover.

I read elsewhere that Vornado is pleased with the arrangement -- because it can abuse him. As Vornado is the controlling partner, it can make decisions to maximize what it needs. So it regularly reinvests in the building instead of passing its profits along. And because of this arrangement, the minority stake is harder to sell because possible buyers know they would be held hostage to Vornado's whims.fierceredpanda wrote: ↑Thu May 20, 2021 8:13 am Given all the recent headlines regarding investigations of the Trump Organization, one would think that Steven Roth might want to start disentangling Vornado from Trump, not jumping further into bed with him.

Didn't Trump also have a +/- $150 million loan due this year against his share of 555 California? Does this affect that at all?

there used to be a really good restaurant at the top of 555, the Carnelian Room. It closed during the Great Recession. Great views, great food, no ketchup, hamberders, or taco salads, so Trump would've hated it.

I happened to look through a list of tenants of 555 California. Of course, the two most prominent law firm tenants are Jones Day (Donald Trump's lawyers) and Kirkland & Ellis (probably the biggest predominantly-Republican law firm in the United States). Imagine my surprise.

US secretary of state Antony Blinken has confirmed that America no longer wants to buy Greenland.
Blinken visited the Danish autonomous territory as he ended a four-day trip that included a meeting of the foreign ministers of countries bordering the Arctic.
“I am in Greenland because the United States deeply values our partnership and wants to make it even stronger,” Antony Blinken told reporters on his final stop of the Arctic tour.
He stressed that he was not there to buy the country, signalling a change in policy from the Trump administration. Asked whether the US had definitively ruled out any plans to buy Greenland, Blinken replied with a smile: “I can confirm that’s correct.”

Former president Donald Trump charged the Secret Service more than $40,000 this spring for rooms that Trump’s own protective detail used while guarding him at his Mar-a-Lago Club, according to federal spending records.
The records show that Trump’s club charged the Secret Service $396.15 every night starting Jan. 20, the day he left the White House and moved full-time into his Palm Beach, Fla., club.
Receipts: Charges to Secret Service from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club
Those charges, ultimately paid by taxpayers, continued until at least April 30, the spending records show, for a total of $40,011.15. The charges were for a single room used as a workspace by Secret Service agents, according to one person familiar with the payments.
Re: trump (the former guy)
That's infuriating. Is it really necessary that the SS be stationed directly on the former guy's property? I don't know how it works with other past presidents.

Further down the above linked article:
Trump’s decision to charge the Secret Service rent appears unusual — both for a sitting president and now for a former one.
Former presidents get Secret Service protection for life. But last year The Washington Post spoke to historians and representatives for recent presidents and could not find another example of a president charging the Secret Service rent on this scale.
The closest parallel to Trump was the man who succeeded him: Joe Biden. While he was protected as vice president, Biden charged the Secret Service $2,200 per month to use a cottage on his property in Delaware. In total, Biden received $171,600 between 2011 and 2017.
Biden has not charged the Secret Service rent since becoming president in January, a White House spokesman said.
Historians said they were surprised Trump was still charging the Secret Service, considering that ex-presidents are entitled to an array of other taxpayer-funded benefits, including paid staff and a $219,000-per-year pension.

This is nothing no and certainly no surprise.
Even before he became President, when he first qualified for SS protection as a candidate, he was charging the SS (or wanted to charge them) an exorbitant rate for space in Trump tower. I think the SS finally found an office in another building, close by.
I also firmly believe that he will charge the government excessive rates to rent office space in Mar a Lago or Trump tower, in accordance with an ex-president's allowance for office space and staff. I don't know what the limits of such allowance is, but I'm sure that the orangester will take it to the limit.
