As with 98% of the recent reporting concerning the Special Counsel's investigation, this was pretty clearly another self-serving leak from counsel for Trump or other witnesses. Doesn't mean it's false, but it's undoubtedly incomplete and subject to spin; and so take it with some salt.

He was knee deep in the efforts for Trump to cling to power. If he has half a brain he should seriously cut a deal and spill all the beans. Assuming there is enough there to hit Trump with some serious charges in that case, I would be OK with Meadows getting a plea deal, but only if he comes clean on every single detail and every single person who participated, including Congress critters. Otherwise just slap the handcuffs on the asshole.

Today, in what can only be described as a bogus and deeply troubling effort to use the power of government to “get” Trump, I fulfilled a legal obligation to testify in front a federal grand jury and I answered every question honestly.

America has become a sick and broken nation—a decline led by Joe Biden and power hungry Democrats. I will not be intimidated by this weaponization of government. For me, the need to unite our nation and make America great again has never been more clear than it is today.

That starts with re-electing President Donald J. Trump, a purpose I will not be deterred from pursuing.

The bird site is a-twitter with speculation that Meadows has flipped; e.g.:

It is understood that the former North Carolina congressman will plead guilty to several federal charges as part of a deal for which he has already received limited immunity in exchange for his testimony.

Shakers of salt, and all that.

I see that the tweet has been deleted, but it was referring to this story in the Independent (the UK paper).

As several have noted, the Independent's likely source likely isn't the DOJ, Meadows, or the courts.

Tea Leaves: indictment still on track, but why simultaneous defense lawyer appeal to DOJ and hearing more witnesses: To keep things moving? Lock in misc. testimony/fill small holes? Put in witnesses defense asked for (as happened in Bragg case)?
And venue issue looms large now.

Bannon being subpoenaed is nothing to lose sleep over: he will take the 5th, as he is awaiting trial and has another criminal conviction on appeal! The only puzzle is why he is receiving a subpoena now, at this late date. Cause no way is he cooperating.
