Suranis wrote: Fri May 19, 2023 4:36 am I'm kinda proud that I dug up the Skousen Link based on that shitty constitution that Ammon was carrying around in his pocket. That gave a lot of background into the crazy ideas in the Malheur mess.

As an aside, while I defended the actions at the time, I have since come around to the fact that they should have put that place in a ring of steel. They were letting these idiots wander into town and have lunch and buy supplies. If they had grabbed people as they were leaving for supplies and so on, the place would have gone Lord of the Flies a lot sooner, rather than when the leaders were grabbed. Then Ammon would have been revealed as a nutcase as people would have started surrendering en masse as their tummies started grumbling.

Ya they were trying to prevent another WACO, but Waco only became a farce because the FBI had ignored years of warnings, same as the Ammon/Cliven situation. And what the fuck are those Cattle still doing grazing the reserve?

I think Amonn wants a Waco at this point. The rest of the Right wing idiots know he is full of shit, he feels his relevance fading, so its his only chance at immortality.
:yeahthat: I was stunned that they allowed those idiots to come and go at will. As you said, they should have blocked all entry into Malheur. If anyone left to get food, they can't get back in. That would have ended it much sooner. That whole thing was handled very poorly. Also, I remember everyone thinking that local Sheriff was just the best thing since mashed potatoes. He was a right wing nut job who made all kind of statements about "taking our country back" and crap like that. He just wasn't all the way nut job enough to put his hat in with Bundy's effort. But that is a pretty freaking low bar.
There's a lot of things that need to change. One specifically? Police brutality.

There were no warrants issued for any of the participants during the occupation.
True, and that drove me nuts as well.

I uploaded a few of the daffydavits from docket 25 to Courtlistener. They are all the same form letter and all the signers are senior citizens. Here's the first one:

Where or where are House Republicans when it's time to get angry about law enforcement allowing habitual scofflaws to get away with flouting the law, particularly in such an obviously public way.

Maybe it was the lighting, but she does not look well. She insists they didn't benefit financially, yet says other people paid their bills while ammo was holed up at Malheur and in jail. And people are happy to give them their last few dollars for "the cause." Explains why he hasn't had to work much in the last eight years.

Yeah, and bodes ill for the future.

He's become addicted to the grift, and doesn't want to do any real work from now on.

And he's gonna do something crazy to rev up the grift again. I suspect.

:yeahthat: He's scraping the bottom of the barrel at this point, Malheur got national news attention, now he's just getting local attention and a smattering of Fogbow users who keep up with his antics.

He must have refused the read because the order covers diversity jurisdiction, his argument, and finds the parties are not diverse. His organization is actually registered in Idaho as well. After reading the motion for from St. Luke's I am wonder if he is in Florida at all. Their only address is a general box, not that it would matter anyway.
