Pretty sure this was a damage control effort by CNN -- and AC didn't write those words -- hiding in a silo. No I ain't hiding.

The fucks fuck. But I'm not watching that network either.

Many audience members at CNN’s town hall with former President Donald Trump on Wednesday were “disgusted” and “bewildered” by the spectacle, but were told to be respectful and not to boo, according to a report.

“The floor manager came out ahead of time and said, Please do not boo, please be respectful. You were allowed to applaud,” claimed Republican political consultant Matthew Bartlett in an interview with Puck News senior political correspondent Tara Palmeri on Thursday.

“And I think that set the tone where people were going to try their best to keep this between the navigational beacons, and that if they felt compelled to applaud, they would, but they weren’t going to have an outburst or they weren’t going to boo an answer,” he said.

Bartlett claimed that, while many in the audience applauded and cheered the former president, “there were also people that sat there quietly disgusted or bewildered.” He estimated that while around half of the audience expressed vocal support for Trump, the other half sat in silence. Bartlett also alleged that Trump repeatedly “lost the audience” when he spoke about topics like January 6 or the results of the 2020 election, despite the appearance on CNN that the audience was consistently on his side.

Former president Donald Trump's interest in a younger staffer raised alarm in the White House and he "openly" behaved inappropriately, a former Trump administration official has told Newsweek.

Olivia Troye, who was an adviser to former vice president Mike Pence and his lead staffer on the White House coronavirus task force, said Trump's behavior was common knowledge among senior staff.

Her remarks come after two other former Trump staffers accused him of sexual harassment while in the White House. They spoke out in television interviews after a jury on Tuesday found the former president liable for sexually abusing and defaming journalist E. Jean Carroll. Trump denied the allegations and, on Truth Social, called the verdict "A DISGRACE" and a "CONTINUATION OF THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME!" His attorney said he would appeal.

Stephanie Grisham, former White House press secretary, and adviser Alyssa Farah Griffin said on CNN earlier this week that Trump had a pattern of behaving inappropriately with women while in the White House.

"I witnessed his behavior first hand," Troye told Newsweek. "He did it openly and made the comments openly even in meetings."
:snippity:
Grisham said Trump, 76, had been particularly fixated on a woman on her team, and described an incident where he had asked a staffer to "bring her back so that they could look at her ass."

"With this one staffer, it was really bad to the point that I was extremely uncomfortable," Grisham told CNN's Erin Burnett.

Troye, 46, was aware "there was a younger staffer that he took a very keen interest" in. "That was the one they raised concerns about," Troye said.

No, Anderson, we're not negating CNN as a source because we live in a silo, we're negating it because we know the difference between entertainment and news. CNN is now an entertainment venue that books acts based on their outrage factor. In other words, a poor copy of Jerry Springer (RIP).

It’s just so weird that he keeps going back to the fact that he helped him get elected in 2018. OK, so what? He didn’t even ask for Trump’s endorsement in 2022 and won by more. So, what’s the point here, other than the fact that he is a mentally ill, obsessive psychopath?

Trump was not particularly concerned by whether the broadcast would get high ratings, though he told CNN’s chief executive, Chris Licht, backstage that he would boost their ratings, to which Licht nodded and said he should have “a good conversation and have fun”, two of the people said. Trump said while his social media guy sat awkwardly silent.
Absolute and utter bullshit. There is no way on this planet that Malignant Narcissist didn't care about ratings. He probably was actually raging that it only got 3 million views.

And ya of course Trump said he saw the thing as a Win. He is still saying that about every contest he lost. What did you expect that perennial loser to say? That he was disappointed? Fuck no, it was the greatest Town Howl ever!

The Guardian is just buying Trumps propaganda about himself hook line and sinker. AGAIN.

Astonishing what persons who are otherwise seemingly respectable will read from a teleprompter to keep those VERY fat paychecks flowing in. He lives in his own personal money silo. :towel:

We watched 1 1/2 years of Trump rallies starting in 2015 because every freaking media station was fixated on showing us the horror show constantly. Then we had to watch for four years while he was in the White House where the media had no choice but to cover him because he had the title of POTUS.

There is NOTHING new he was going to say that we are not already aware he is saying. We knew before the shit show even started that he would lie about a stolen election, lie about witch hunts, lie about having a right to confiscate classified and unclassified presidential documents, lie about having sexually molested women, and on and on and on. We already know that he's on Russia's side in the Russia/Ukraine war and we know that he already said he would pardon the January 6th criminals.

There is no fucking silo even if we wanted to get into some kind of silo where we would be protected from hearing what the orange pustule has to say. Most of us have at LEAST one family member that spews the cult program even if we manage to hide from Trump's direct word. Fuck CNN.

At the very least, I did see photos last night where men were clapping, but the surrounding women were sitting in what could be called stony silence.

Those "Trump Towers" are just branded with Trump's name. He does not seem to have any ownership interest in them. So this may not have anything at all to do with Trump. It would be nice, though.

Pure speculation: May be due to the embargo on Russian oligarchs, there may be a suspicion that banned investments are hidden under another name.

Pure speculation#2: may be a connection to the mysterious Russian investement into Truth Social (check that thread).

New Hampshire governor ‘embarrassed’ by crowd’s behavior at Trump town hall
Chris Sununu said the audience’s conduct ‘doesn’t shine a positive light’ on the state, which will hold the first Republican primary

Martin Pengelly in New York
Fri 12 May 2023 22.48 BST

The governor of New Hampshire, Chris Sununu, said it was “embarrassing” that Republican voters from his state laughed and applauded when Donald Trump mocked E Jean Carroll during a CNN town hall this week.

Sununu may yet have to court such voters in a presidential run of his own.

Nonetheless, the governor said, the town hall audience’s behavior “doesn’t shine a positive light on New Hampshire”.

#2 would be my bet. I think they were already investigating Trump Social financial issues. This makes sense.

The problem with photos like that is that they are not taken to be representative of the crowd but to push a narrative that they are stubbornly sticking to mo matter how many times its proven to be untrue - The Trump story is Men Vs Women. And ya proportionally more Men than women support Trump - But there are large numbers of Women out there who are more fanatical to Trump than any man. And I'm sure there are photos left on the cutting room floor where the women were cheering and the men were sitting in silence, but we wont see them because that's not the story they want to talk about.

Because boiling it down to Men vs Women is nice and simple. And it drives other people up the wall. And it gives Ammo to people who claim the media is all about attacking men. And it appeals to a certain type of Crusader progressive who does not want any kind of nuance in their attacking.

Blah blah you know what I mean.
