Desantis takes a shot at Trump, saying that he should’ve brought in the FBI Director and fired him because BLM protesters weren’t charged with federal crimes.
Maybe because they didn't commit any? :confuzzled:
You'd think a former prosecutor would understand that prosecutors, not cops or the FBI, file charges.

He certainly understands that his voters don't understand that.

Of course he'll blame it on some poor schmuck and claim he has no knowledge of it and he would *never* approve of or tolerate something like that from any of his people!

The font is not owned by Disney. It's called Waltograph (with several variations) and is free for personal use. For commercial use it must be licensed by its creator.

The creator Justin Callaghan has this website: https://mickeyavenue.com/ with https://mickeyavenue.com/fonts/

Q. Are there any legal/copyright issues with the fonts on this website?
A. You may have noticed that some of these fonts borrow elements from existing designs, to varying degrees. Here are some important points regarding the legality of such practice:

Alphabets and letterforms, by themselves, are not eligible for copyright in the United States. However, font data (ie. digital outlines, metrics, kerning), such as that found in digital font files, may be copyrighted. Since the fonts on this website were created independently and not taken from any third party, they do not infringe on any existing copyrights. They are original digitizations and extrapolations and are copyrighted by their author(s).

It's not the copyright that is the issue, it's the trademark.

The words DeSantis and Disney are sufficiently different that imho they cannot be mistaken as trade marks.

a PS.: in trouble would likely be the producer of the hats for using the font without necessary precaution, not the campaign ordering hats with the DeSantis logo.

pps. Did they order in China or specify made in the US of A?

Pretty sure this is just a 3rd-party selling these, not the campaign. It says "President 2024" -- Ronny hasn't announced yet.

BREAKING: DeSantis poised to sign law that would allow him to run for president without resigning as governor
The bill passed in the House 76-34.

On Friday, the Florida House passed a bill that now heads to Governor Ron DeSantis’ desk allowing the leader to run for president without having to resign from his current post.

The bill passed in the House 76-34, according to Florida’s Voice. The passing comes just days after the bill passed 28 to 12 in the state Senate.

The bill includes a change to existing laws which would now exempt officeholders seeking to run for president or vice president from the state’s "resign-to-run" provision.

He's also urging the lege to repeal at least some of the sunshine laws that gives Florida it's, ahem, transparency, right before he announces his run for president.

This, right here, is why everyone who is worried about this guy can relax. If it comes to it, Biden will chew him up, and use him to paint the lavatory.

More rights of Floridians taken away by Desantis. New legislation for Ron Desantis’s presidential campaign would allow him hide his travel schedule, use of state planes, visitor logs to the Governor’s mansion and other things from the public.
