This is not exactly current but over a hundred years later it still seems relevant.

This pretty much sums everything up.

Yes people organized a online boycott of Hogwarts legacy, and published lists of people who streamed it, telling people to threaten and harass those streamers. Yes people were harassed and threatened.

I didn't bother mentioning it here because all that would happen is people would have tried to justify those who are doing the shit people are doing with beer now. Yes, I censored myself here.

The result was that Hogwarts Legacy sold very well, and streamers en masse streamed the game, and told the Woke mob to get fucked.

There's plenty of stupid to go around.

You do us a grave injustice when you *assume* we would support people "threatening and harassing" others, especially when you then essentially call us stupid based on your assumption, when you made a choice not to see how we'd actually react.

I think it's likely some of us would have supported a boycott, but would strongly oppose any kind of threats or harassment. As for the list, it would depend entirely on what the list was for. If it was a list of people making money off streaming the game and the purpose of the list was to let people to know who to boycott, that's no different than making a list of advertisers on, say, FOX, in order to boycott them for supporting FOX. If the purpose of the list was to "threaten and harass" the streamers, I doubt it would find support from people here.

All I will say is that I have been attacked here before for mentioning other stuff done by "progressives" and I default to being punch drunk at this point. I'll just point to this post as evidence of the mildest of what would have happened. Ignoring the harrassment as "justified."

Don't recognize the guys in that picture, but do in this one. And it's priceless. Love the eyes Marge.

PS: love reading Suranis too. Sometimes he has a punch that leaves you wondering, but that's the point.

I’m pretty sure on 3 of the 4 “stars” in the toon. Scott Baio, Rick Schroder (?), Kevin Sorbo, and Randy Quaid.

it is also important to take claims of 'threatening and harassing' with a grain of salt. When a large strong group has social credit to gain by claiming to be persecuted by a small, weak group who they themselves are subject to significant harassment and real life violence.. it is safer to assume that the cries of persecution are more related "I am doing this to make the trans people cry! watch my stream' than actually feeling threatened. If nothing else, being accustomed to being projector of fear rather than a recipient kinda dulls the effect.

Man, they all went woke and went broke. Or something.

Well, went broke at least.

Quaid was the one I couldn't tell because his descent into madness and obscurity has come with a changed look; the others look older than they were 20-30 years ago, but not much different other than that.
But the sunshine aye shall light the sky,
As round and round we run;
And the truth shall ever come uppermost,
And justice shall be done.

Not totally sure. Scott Baio, of course. Rick Schroder -- yep he put up $50k into the Rittenhouse defense fund.. (both chid stars that did not graduate to the adult stage).

Kevin Sorbo I had to look up.... he was a one hit wonder thing staring in the Tarzan series. Randy Quaid I had to look up as well. I don'''t know any of his works.

No, that's not fair on Sorbo. His Hercules series was wildly successful. People talked about Zena Warrior Princess because of the boobs, but Hercules had a similar style and had a bigger viewership. Probably as it was campy and light hearted.

He also did a decent Sci fi series called Andromeda.

Randy Quaid was a decent, well liked supporting actor who had a good career till he went off the rails. I've read articles of people universally blaming his wife. His wife was a complete loudmouth conspiracy nut who wrecked jobs for him by going nuts on set. She dragged him into her world.

I did not watch that Tarzan series nor that Zena series so I do not know of the B-list actors who played on them.

Although, it was good to find that Randy Quaid is not related to Dennis Quaid (A-list actor).
