My friend had a male who was fixed and his wife a female, also too fixed...

I watched CNN show his arrival at Trump Tower. It looked and sounded like about six supporters showed up.
I realize that tomorrow is the big day, but I would have thought that more morons would show up to get a glimpse of their idol and show him some love.

Agree noblepa but I think the key words are "watched CNN." I respectfully suggest that none of us watch CNN or any TV tomorrow to deny ratings to the Fat Orange Monster.

They don't want to get their feelings hurt by the locals on live TV.

And so it's about to begin. The press clamored to post every ridiculous, over the top thing Trump did in 2016 to the point where all anyone saw during 2016 election cycle was wall to wall 24/7 coverage of Trump sprinkled with Clinton emails every now and again. I bet when Republican voters showed up for primaries they probably scratched their heads trying to figure who in the world were the other 15 names listed as choices.
And I bet every freaking news channel will carry Trump's "message to the country" tonight. Even though it's not even primary season yet, and he is not anything other than a common criminal finally facing an actual criminal indictment. I will turn off every TV in the house tonight, I will be damned if I'm going to contribute to the 2024 presidential clown show, featuring Donald Fucking Trump 24 goddam 7.

But he's not just a common criminal. He is a former President of the United States. We may not like that uncomfortable truth (I certainly dislike it) but that does not change the fact. Since this has not happened in the 225+ years of having Presidents, it makes it sort of a big deal so of course the press will cover everything.
Me hammering a nail at a Habitat for Humanity project is me hammering a nail. Jimmy Carter doing the same is camera worthy. That's just the way it is.
That said, I won't be watching any speech tonight. I generally don't watch the news channels anyway and definitely do not keep the tv on with some news channel going in the background so it is not a difficult task for me to ignore it.

Good plan! I've got some nice taped shows I haven't watched yet if I need a break from my books, so I won't be listening to him, either. Not that I would in my event - the sound of his voice makes me sick.
You can't wait until life isn't hard anymore before you decide to be happy.
