What is a "science" degree? Even bachelor's degrees are usually specific, biology, physics, chemistry, etc.

Unless BYU-Idaho is somehow modeled on something like the Maryland or New Mexico campuses of St. John's College ... a single undergraduate curriculum which consists of something akin to seven liberal arts of the trivium and the quadrivium -- you study in four categories of language/literature, mathematics/astronomy, biology & physical sciences, and then a bit of music. That's one of the rare instances where I see a Bachelor's Degree in something generic like 'science' or 'liberal arts' without a distinguishing 'major'. I'm too lazy to look it up and see if BYU-I is set up the same way, though.pipistrelle wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 6:08 pmWhat is a "science" degree? I looked around the website a bit. The science degrees seem specific-food science, animal science, nursing science, geology, biological, etc. I couldn't find "science." I don't know how you get a meaningful degree in "science." An employer or grad school wouldn't know where to begin with you.

My guess is that her degree is a BS, Bachelor of Science. So she calls it a "Science" degree. Just a guess.

If you want to be really scientifik, you should use the FFF* system of measurements. That's how you get things to go "boink".

Because there's really stupid people out there, there is a conspiracy theory about mRNA vaccines being given to livestock (mostly cattle) which in turn will somehow also vaccinate YOU after you ingest the meat or milk from these mRNA animals.

As long as the people opposed to mRNA also avoid rBST, GMO, other bioengineered products in their daily lives, and only eat Organic, I am not adverse to their personal preference. As soon as I see them wolf down some Taco Bell, I'll know they are FOS.

But … won't you need shore-to-ship radio to contact the AMFF Armada?Azastan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 10:27 am Because there's really stupid people out there, there is a conspiracy theory about mRNA vaccines being given to livestock (mostly cattle) which in turn will somehow also vaccinate YOU after you ingest the meat or milk from these mRNA animals.

Back in the day I read an article in a technical trade rag which among other amusing things spoke of a new printer technology capable of speeds up to 23,582 CPF (Characters per Fortnight). Yes it was a parody.Slarti the White wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2023 12:15 amIf you want to be really scientifik, you should use the FFF* system of measurements. That's how you get things to go "boink".

Yes, it does. But she's not telling us. And because it's a "Bachelor of Science", she thinks she can call it a "Science" degree. BYU Idaho offers degrees in Food Science, for example. Maybe she doesn't think "Food Science" sounds impressive enough, so she just calls it a "Science" degree. Just a guess.
