Since one can be legally registered to vote in only one state, that seems to me to be a reasonable conclusion that that is the state that one considers "home".
Walker himself apparently considers Texas to be "home".
Indeed, this is one where the so-called "totality of the circumstances" make you go :fingerwag:

Walker voted in Georgia. But has openly declared Texas his home, and gets a homestead exemption there. As far as Texas is concerned, if he's not a Texas resident, he's breaking the law there. And if he *is* a Texas resident, he's breaking the law in Georgia by voting there.

It's a :pickle:
Georgia law states:

"If a person goes into another state and while there exercises the right of a citizen by voting, such person shall be considered to have lost such person's residence in this state."

So, did Walker ever vote in Texas?

It is a runoff election. Surely he knew who was on the ballot without wasting an hour standing in line.

That's a matter of public record, some enterprising young reporter should find out. Bummed out I don't have access to voter files anymore.

Human nature. It's a rule. Can't remember the name. The closer you get to the reality of something you're going to do, the bigger the reasons for not doing it get.

Sounds like malarkey.

Does his presence increment the total voter numbers necessary for something, even in a run-off?

I don’t have any doubt Warnock will win— the question is by what margin. I predict (perhaps wrongly) that Warnock will get over 60% of the vote.

In other words, I predict it will be a blowout.
Here is something to support that view…

Dan,

I am not as sanguine as you with respect to the 60% figure you predict that Warnock will receive. I do think he will win, but with around 54-55% of the vote.

It is Georgia, after all. Lotta rednecks and small minds who will vote for a football star (see Tommy Tuberville, football coach) only because.

I think he's being a drama queen. He went to vote planning to hold his nose for Walker, but somehow a little voice in his head stopped him. He knew good and well Walker deserves that senate seat like Pamela Anderson deserves an Oscar.

But - if it convinces a few dozen Republicans to stay home, I'll take it.

After reading my post, I realize that was a grave insult to Pamela Anderson. I'd give her an Oscar long before I'd vote for Walker.
May the bridges I burn light my way.

How are these things coming out NOW, after the election in November?

He doesn't live in Georgia?

Another woman says he violently attacked her?

What the actual f*ck? Why didn't we learn these BEFORE WE ALMOST VOTED HIM INTO THE UNITED STATES SENATE?

I read somewhere (here maybe?), that Georgia law requires that someone be a resident WHILE representing the state. If that’s true, and he wins, then he doesn’t have to be a legal resident until he takes office.

Too easy... Bunch of white guys (RNC) found a token black man that ain't too sharp who they could control. Lotta black folk in Georgia and Georgians loves them their football, so he is PERFECT!

That's a hard-hitting ad. Granted.
But to the people who support him, it doesn't matter. Even if it's all true (and it most likely is) they don't care, so it makes little to no impact on them. In fact, for some, it gives even more reason to vote for him.

Chris Christie jokes Georgia’s Brian Kemp ‘first human being who ever dragged Herschel Walker over the goal line’

BY JULIA MUELLER -
12/04/22 12:32 PM ET

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Sunday said that Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp’s (R) support for Republican Senate nominee and former NFL star Herschel Walker would contribute to a boost for Walker but difficulties remain when it comes to an outright win.

“He would be the first human being who ever dragged Herschel Walker over the goal line,” Christie, an ABC contributor, said on the network’s “This Week.”

“Brian Kemp, people wondered whether he would go all-in or not. He has. With his staff he has been out there personally campaigning for Walker,” Christie said.

But the former governor predicted that while Kemp’s support will likely boost Walker, the race is likely to remain neck and neck.
