Boebert is now blaming weak GOP candidates in the CO Gov and Senate races for dragging her down as the reason for her poor showing in a Republican district. Definitely not her fault.

But there was a lot of shifting of the votes there. Of course, I expect to win. I think Polis and Bennet definitely carried the ticket for the Democrat Party.

So, looked at current results.
  • L. Boebert 50.20% 162,040
  • A. Frisch 49.80% 160,918
  • Difference: 1,122
The google machine tells me that Colorado does automatic recounts when a margin of victory in an election is less than or equal to 0.5% of the winner's vote.

Right now the margin is sitting at .69%. (Unless I did my maths wrong, which is possible.)

So, unless a miracle happens, no automatic recount. Think Frisch will pay for one?

Colorado requires a recount
[if the difference between the highest number of votes cast in that election contest and the next highest number of votes cast in that election contest is less than or equal to one-half of one percent of the highest vote cast in that election contest.”

50.2% - 49.8% = 0.4%

Next update is probably Wednesday, and will most likely be within the threshold to trigger auto recount. This could turn out to be the closest race of the cycle, like <= 10 votes.

Eta: OK I see how the actual number is 0.69%

Jez has the correct percent difference of 0.69%

For a mandatory recount, Boebert's lead cannot be more than approx. 825. (assuming that the total vote count for Lil Lauren will be about 165,000).

But new tallies will likely have to wait until Wednesday, the deadline for counties to receive ballots from military and overseas voters.

The next round of updated votes won’t just include those ballots, though — each county has kept some uncounted ballots in reserve to mix with whatever it receives through Wednesday in order to keep those results as anonymous as possible....

... Wednesday is also the deadline for voters whose ballots were uncountable, primarily because their signature was missing or rejected, to fix the problem — known in the election world as curing. (Here's how to cure your ballot, by the way.) Other problems may include an issue with the identification the voter has on file with the state.

Does anybody think she will learn anything from this close race?

No. Neither do I.

I’m not a psychic or anything, but given reports about her husband’s behavior (not the old stuff, new assholery in the ‘hood) she may not make it to the next election. I just have a feeling…

I'll take it a step farther and ask the rhetorical question, "does anyone thing she will learn anything?"

Trump is reportedly making a list of people he endorsed who aren’t coming out to quickly support him after his announcement. Boebert was asked about that: “I am a huge supporter of (Trump). But with that, I love Desantis. He is America’s governor, and he has the same policies.”

So, here is a silly question. I know her opponent conceded, but since the vote tally was so close, isn't there still going to be a recount?

Yes, it’s close enough that it is probably going to trigger an automatic recount under Colorado law. That said, Boebert’s lead is large enough to survive a recount.

Yes, the recount is required by law if it's close enough and it was. Frisch just admitted that it was unlikely he would win. If by chance he DOES, well, he does and will be the next Congressman from CO3.

As unlikely as it is, if it does happen just imagine the howls.

A concession basically isn't legally binding; it is just acknowledging the present count and predicting additional counting won't alter the result. In other words, a gracious but informal end.

In almost any scenario, one could uncede after conceding.

But the party of sore losers has even turned conceding into a moral failing, and somehow believes it has legal consequences.

Isn't the most appropriate response to this latest chunk of RW idiocy to just shrug shoulders and calmly accept the victory. If asked why the opponent hasn't concede, the answer is simply "because they're sore losers and stupid enough to think conceding or not makes a difference but it doesn't"?

The elections are worth winning, the arguments about conceding not at all. "I'll thcream and thcream and thcream 'till I'm thick" didn't work for Violet Elizabeth Bott. It won't work with most of the electorate.
