What's that sound I hear?

Oh yeah. It's Republican heads exploding.

They were going to have a Red Wave.

This one is just insane. Herrera-Beutler lost her seat, and yet this area then turned around and elected a Democrat! TFG backed another loser in this race.

It really is nuts. I frequently hike at multiple locations in Skamania county. It’s been a “go to” location of mine for several years. Beautiful scenery, people seem friendly enough but I imagined it would go blue.

 Who loves you? I DO!

We did it!!

This tweet reply got a big reaction
Greg Kelly @gregkellyusa 2h
CANCEL MAIL-IN VOTING.

OrlyLicious 🇺🇸 @Orly_licious Replying to @gregkellyusa
Greg "Ted Baxter" Kelly, it was the GOP that pioneered mail-in voting & successfully used it for decades. It's how Karl Rove became huge in GOP circles. Some impetuous child threw out years of work for his ego. Now you're whining about something your party could be doing. 😂

Horrible Joe Kent took a fall too also.

Joe Kent for WA-3 @joekent16jan19 3h
US House candidate, WA-03

What the media says is irrelevant, its another narrative designed to stop voters from ballot curing & to force me to concede - not gonna happen.

We’re on the streets ballot curing. The fight goes on while the talking heads talk.

Power dry & check your ballot 🇺🇸

Quote Tweet Joe Kent for WA-3
@joekent16jan19 3h
US House candidate, WA-03

We are making progress, down by 1.51% or 4,621 votes.

There are still 12k votes left to count plus 6k ballots to cure - this is not over.

Make sure you vote is counted, curing will be decisive 🧵👇 twitter.com/joekent16jan19…

OrlyLicious 🇺🇸 @Orly_licious Replying to @joekent16jan19

It's over. Joe Kent, gracefully concede #WA03 and begin showing voters that Republicans have a shred of responsibility.

In other news, Democrats now won control of the US Senate with Masto's victory.

Bad candidate quality, election denialism, & nasty trolling = FAILURE.

The crying and whining and denial by MAGATs is amazing. It's almost like all the 2020 denialism finally bubbled up so they're losing twice. Tons and tons like this:

I don't usually have a defeatist attitude, but seriously, how do we get our country back with this evil, maniacal cheating so entrenched and nobody pushing back? Seriously. 🤷‍♂️

Here's one of the secrets of what happened. Don't tell your GOP friends, continue to insist DO NOT VOTE BY MAIL.

Salena is a PA GOP reporter troll who was kicked off CNN after a brief stint in 2016. She still writes for the Washington Examiner. Damn you Salena for telling! Thankfully MAGA won't listen.

Democrats have mastered mail balloting. Republicans will pay if they fail to step up
by Salena Zito, National Political Reporter November 11, 2022 04:51 PM

PITTSBURGH — The first thing Allegheny County Republican Chairman Sam DeMarco saw on election night after the polls closed was the more than 100,000 votes from his home county that dropped for Democrat John Fetterman through mail-in ballots. Although he wasn’t sure just yet that that meant the race was lost, he also knew Republicans needed to fix something in the party’s way of doing things going forward. “Those initial large dump of voters were mail-in ballots from Democrats,” he said of the advance voting that began in 2020 during the pandemic. Democrats embraced it with gusto, but Republicans shied away.

“The biggest takeaway from Tuesday night is that Republican attitudes in regard to mail-in voting needs to change," he continued. "Right now, it’s like we’re running a 100-yard race against the Democrats and giving them a 45-yard head start. Both parties have limited resources, but while they work during the 50 days of early voting collecting and banking early votes ... we’re just collecting promises to show up on Election Day; it’s not sustainable, and Democrats get better at it every cycle."

When all the dust is settled, it will be interesting to see what the percentage of mail-in votes for Democrats was in the final count; anything over 40% is a real problem for Republicans going forward if they don’t right their mail-in ballot ship. Before the pandemic, Pennsylvania voters needed a valid excuse to cast an absentee ballot. Act 77, which was signed on Oct. 31, 2019, and went into effect on Jan. 1, 2020, added no-excuse mail-in voting up to 50 days before an election. It also changed how these ballots are canvassed, moving from the individual precincts or polls to a central canvassing facility. In this state, no one really thought it would be a big deal. Most of the people who used absentee balloting were bedridden or traveling out of state on Election Day. Then the pandemic hit.

Although states such as Arizona and Oregon had been voting by mail forever — and for the most part, they did it quite well — then-President Donald Trump scoffed at it for his voters. While Democrats encouraged their voters to cast their ballots by mail, Trump discouraged it, warning that it was a vessel for voter fraud. That gave Democrats the advantage. Republicans in Pennsylvania and also across the country are still reeling from Tuesday’s disappointing finish. They say that if this is the new normal for voting going forward, then Republicans need to step up and get their voters to do the same — otherwise, they will find themselves on the wrong end of big elections going forward.

Currently, Democrats are miles ahead of Republicans at targeting specific races and voters. Through mail balloting, they put those voters in the bank early. This year, they executed and focused and performed; that's why they have probably saved their U.S. Senate majority, based on vote counts as of this writing. It's why they were able to limit Republican gains in the House to maybe just a handful, or maybe none at all. A lot of pollsters missed this, because Democrats had timed a lot of their advertising to hit right when the early voting began — especially their messages on abortion. This paid dividends. They banked their voters and created a mirage for analysts who thought the races were closer than they calculated.

Republicans can complain about the current rules all they want, but what they need to do is wake up and start competing with the Democrats where they are. Otherwise, they're just leaving winnable races on the table. Florida Republicans certainly have figured it out. In 2018 and 2020, the Democrats went into Election Day with more ballots cast than Republicans in early voting. This year, Florida Republicans flipped that on its head. Republicans in other states should take note.

Now that we have 50 in the senate, hopefully the GA Rs who were willing to hold their nose to vote for Walker to achieve majority status will now stay home.

Too also, hopefully some GA Dems don't get cocky and now stay home.

New Runoff Slogan: "Make Manchin (or Synema) irrelevant." Oh, no, wait, that would hurt the fee-fees of the obstructionist game-playing Senators from West Virginia and Arizona and that would be wrong. Dang.
But the sunshine aye shall light the sky,
As round and round we run;
And the truth shall ever come uppermost,
And justice shall be done.

Have been going back to look at the Red Tsunami projections, the sheer ridiculousness of the predictions and the Wed/Thu episodes of like Mark Levin, Bannon War Room, Mike Lindell and others as their heads explode. It's lots of fun. :P

Let's not forget RWNJ's RCP's final Senate election projection:

Maria Bartiromo is HYSTERICAL today, it's her funniest show ever. It's called Sunday Morning Futures and literally has nothing to do with the future. She literally screamed non-stop at Rick Scott and it was beautiful to watch. She gets to Orly Taitz-level mania and that is no small feat.

ETA: Here's the show:

Update on the Greg Kelly/Ted Baxter tweet -- the analytics are hilarious. Knowing all those MAGAts are reading it is especially heartwarming. Beware The Fogbow. 8-)

PS: Here's Maria's opening with the repulsive Stephen Miller. Favorite part: Stephen WAILS at how the GOP got more popular votes but didn't win the Senate! :crying: Spoiler: Early and Mail-in Voting

Stephen Miller explains why it wasn’t the red tsunami like expected.

@Orly, thanks a heap for posting the link to Bartiromo's show. I had it on earlier, but I'd nodded back off to sleep and I only recall her yelling at someone. LOL, she is stressed out.

Stephen Miller, not quite as bizarre as his Chia Pet hair from a few years ago, but WTF is it with all that red around his lips. Has he been sucking someone's blood, or too much red wine at yesterday's reception?

Thanks for the SNL link. I stuck around for Chappelle's monologue which was pretty damn good. He opens with Kanye but rolls into Trump & the elections, staying on topic.
