He doesn’t have a clue, as smart as he is. He thinks everyone will obey HIS rules because his mother thinks he’s a genius.

Without moderation, there’s no “conversation”. There’s cacophony and lots of shouting, not much listening. There’s no decorum in MAGAland. They’ll probably use twitter to plan the next insurrection, and Elon will bring refreshments.

Good god I hate this timeline.

He's taking it private. The NYSE can't suspend anything. Or did I miss something?

Reading that article, it says that the shares are being suspended on Friday to help prevent wild swings in the price if there's any drama with the sale closing, and that shares will most likely begin selling again on Monday. As of the time of the article, shares were trading for $53 and change which is only bout a dollar less than what Musk is supposed to be paying.

If he's taking it private, there won't be any shares. And firing the CEO, etc without board approval looks really farking ugly, too.

There used to be a board, going private would eliminate that, too.

Elon is nobody's hero, most everyone's zero and disgustingly obscene.

Then Fast Company has a pretty big error in their article because it says nothing about him taking it private.

I wonder if DFO will be back on it before the election. :?:

Correct.
Isn't that a two (or more) step process. First aquiring the company, eg buying the outstanding shares, then when formally in full control, dequote it from the markets and make it private?

The market plays by rules mere mortals can't understand. You're probably correct, it's probably just a timing thing.

My impression, for whatever that's worth, is that he is taking revenge on Twitter for forcing him to actually go through with the sale when he just wanted to stir some shit and walk off giggling. It's the reaction of a petulant child. He simply cannot comprehend that he could actually lose everything, which is a real possibility if his creditors pull out due to his taking a sledgehammer to everything.

I mentioned taking it private, because that's what generally happens when a private party buys up all the shares.

Yep, and then the buyer can do what they want. Happens with vulture capitalists all the time. Buy a company, gut it, unemploy a bunch of people and trash their lives.
