(the titular) Mama June Shannon has been hospitalized. TMZ was the first the report the news on Wednesday, indicating that emergency measures were taken after Shannon had a routine doctor's office visit on Monday. The Mama June: Road to Redemption star, 43, informed her physician that she had been experiencing severe headaches and dizziness as of late. As a precaution, her doctor reportedly chose to admit her to the hospital.

At this time, health care specialists are working to determine the cause of Shannon's pain. The reality star also confirmed to the news outlet that she's been hospitalized since her appointment earlier this week, and has undergone several tests to help reach a prognosis. TMZ added that Shannon's husband, Justin Stroud, has been with her at the hospital. PEOPLE has reached out to Shannon's rep for comment.

Shannon has faced many health struggles over the years. Untreated cataracts from childhood resulted in Shannon becoming legally blind. She has also dealt with weight issues, previously undergoing a gastric sleeve procedure and a tummy tuck to aid in her weight loss. Additionally, Shannon has worked alongside a trainer. Since getting sober following her longtime battle with drug addiction, Shannon recently revealed she has gained weight again — but she's happy, nonetheless.

"With my weight loss, I have as I like to tell people, gained that healthy COVID weight. I've put on probably about 60-70 pounds," she told TooFab in 2021. "Am I happy the way I am? Yeah. When I was a size 2 at 150, I was way too damn small. Now I'm 250 and I feel good. Even when I was 500, people didn't believe I was 500."

Shannon married Stroud in March on the couple's six-month anniversary. The marriage comes after she ended her alleged "abusive relationship" with now-ex Geno Doak. "I'm grateful for the person that I found — Justin," she said of Stroud on her family's TLC show. "I do have a wonderful man right here." Shannon has four children from previous relationships, including daughter Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson. PEOPLE confirmed in June that primary custody over the 17-year-old teen was awarded to Shannon's daughter Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon two months earlier.

"People don't understand the custody thing," Shannon told Page Six in June. "It's not that somebody 'lost custody.' In the state of Georgia, you do temporary guardianship every year, and [Alana] had been living with Pumpkin in my addiction." "At the age of 12, you're able to make your choice, so Alana made that choice to stay in that environment," she continued. "It's not like I don't see Alana, it's not that I don't talk to her because I do see her, I do talk to her, we do communicate."

What was supposed to be a regular visit to the doctor has turned into a serious health issue for Mama June -- she's been hospitalized, and specialists are working to figure out exactly what's wrong. The reality star tells TMZ she had a routine checkup Monday, but relayed to her doctor she's been having severe headaches and dizziness as of late ... which was apparently enough to cause alarm, so her doc made the decision to admit her to the hospital.

Mama June tells us she's been in the hospital ever since her initial appointment, and has undergone a series of scans and tests, while everyone tries to figure out a diagnosis. At this point, Mama June says she doesn't know what's wrong.

While she's struggled with addiction in the past, MJ tells us she has NOT relapsed ... and whatever is going on with her current medical situation is not substance-induced. Mama June's new husband, Justin, has been by her side while she's been in the hospital.

Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s father, whose real name is Mike Thompson, recently underwent a complete cosmetic and dental makeover, and the results are truly incredible. “I haven’t stopped looking in the mirror,” he said in a statement. “I don’t recognize the man in the mirror.” “I never thought I could have a smile I would be proud of and I really love the Botox because I look a lot younger,” he added. In the dramatic “after” photo, Mama June’s ex — who normally covered his receding hairline with a baseball cap and smiled with his mouth closed — beams at the camera with straight, white teeth and a fuller hairline.

Sugar Bear's decaying teeth were treated by Dr. Joseph Goodman in Beverly Hills, who pulled 20 of them before inserting dentures.


The reality star, 50, headed to Hollywood for his new look, which included a smile reboot, Botox and a hair transplant at the total cost of $66,800, per Gina Rodriguez of Sugar Bear’s management team, Gitoni. His fuller strands are thanks to a $30,000 procedure from Jacques Abrahamian at Pasadena’s LA FUE Hair Clinic, with the reality star receiving “over 3,500 FUE grafts to restore the first half of his scalp,” according to the rep.

Moving on to his smile, Sugar Bear had 20 teeth removed by Dr. Joseph Goodman in Beverly Hills, who then added snap-in dentures to lend the look of shiny white veneers. He also received Botox to smooth out the lines on his forehead, as well as around his eyes and eyebrows. Sugar Bear isn’t the only Thompson looking to change their appearance these days — Honey Boo Boo, 16, is planning on getting weight loss surgery alongside her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, 21.

As for the elder Thompson — who divorced wife Jennifer Lamb at the end of 2021 — he ran into a famous face last week at Rodriguez’s home, and fans couldn’t get enough of the epic Instagram photo. Lamar Odom posted a snap of himself standing next to the “Mama June” star, with Sugar Bear not even reaching the basketballer’s shoulders.

The unlikely duo of Lamar Odom and Sugar Bear met at their mutual manager’s house last week.

“You never know who you gonna run into at my managers crib….. SB!” he posted, tagging @realsugarbear and adding two crying-laughing emojis. “Thought I recognized him,” one fan commented. “you both look amazing seem to be in good places.” Another follower pointed out Sugar Bear’s makeover, writing, “Hey, just saw your new teeth and they really look amazing! MAMA June Shannon's daughter Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird and her husband Josh are now filming their new spinoff show and a key family member is not included, sources say. The U.S. Sun can exclusively report that a spinoff with June's daughter Pumpkin, 22, has quietly begun filming, according to sources familiar with the production. "Pumpkin and Josh have been filming with the kids and Alana and Dralin are part of the production as well," one source said of Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson, 17, and her boyfriend, 21-year-old Dralin Carswell's involvement.

A second source confirmed that fans shouldn't expect to see much of the Mama June: Road to Redemption star, in this new family spin-off. As The Sun previously reported, June got off easy and was ordered to pay just $800 a month to Pumpkin for Alana's child support as the judge was taking into account that the matriarch's future reality TV income appeared uncertain. The judge noted that while June's total income at the time was around $25,000 a month, and they said in their judgment: "this amount is uncertain as it depends on production and endorsements and at this time, the show has not been renewed for a new season."

Meanwhile, a second source familiar with the spinoff added that fans will likely see the family take a trip to Vegas over the course of the spinoff as well. WeTV did not return The U.S. Sun's request for comment. The U.S. Sun previously reported that Pumpkin and Josh were in talks for this spinoff back in July - without the 43-year-old matriarch. It was also revealed that Pumpkin has doubled her brood of children after she and Josh welcomed twins back in May.

The 22-year-old Road to Redemption star gave birth via c-section to the twins on May 19 at a Georgia hospital. The baby boy's name is Sylus Ray Efird and his twin sister's name is Stella Renae Efird. Stella weighed in at 6lbs 1oz when she was born at 8:50 am and little Sylus followed one minute later weighing 5lbs 4oz. Pumpkin revealed she and Josh were the only people allowed in the delivery room when the twins were born. After the birth Josh’s mother, stepfather, and grandmother were the first visitors. An elated Pumpkin told The Sun: "The family is really happy. Things have been stressful adjusting to three babies under one-year-old and just five kids in general but it’s nothing me and Josh can’t handle. "This just means life is a little more hectic but will be so worth it in the end."

In Georgia court documents first obtained by The Sun, a judge awarded sole custody of Alana to her sister Pumpkin and away from their mother June. The young mother has been Alana's legal guardian since August of 2019, following their mother's downward spiral into drug addiction. In the final order issued in April 2022, the judge wrote that Pumpkin "has had guardianship of the minor child since April 29, 2019. "It is in the best interest of the child that the plaintiff is awarded sole custody."
