Northland10 here. Joined on 23 January 2010.

I must be entering the busy season for somebody who is a church musician (it's Lent and upcoming Easter time) and a fundraising data analyst jumping into the final months of a major project. I did not even realize TFB was down until 12 or so hours after it happened

My organ tech installed heavy-duty "dispose of complainer" stops. The old ones were wearing out too quickly.

As for the lift.. theater organists get all the fun.

Sooo.... I have not mentioned this yet, but I guess I should.

As mentioned elsewhere, I went on a trip for my aunt's burial in Kansas than a few days in Colorado. The burial went very well (I sang Silent Noon by Vaughan Williams and was in especially good voice for it). I got to see the remnants of the old farm and spent time with family. The next day, I drove out to Nederland, Colorado. I was fine but later in the day, I felt really tired. I assumed it was just the stress of the whole event finally dropping, and I needed to sleep (I expected that). By the next day, I realized it was more.

COVID. :cussing:

So, isolating as much as possible, I remained there through my days, moved to North Platte NE for a couple of days (could order in deliver there) and finally made it home. I have been out of CDC isolation requirements for a bit now, but still not 100%. It was mild but still, annoying.

I have not had a beer in over a week.

While I am still getting the energy back, have the stupid cough and post-nasal annoyance, unable to sing much yet, and have not had a beer, I did take a test out of curiosity (by CDC guidance, I was done with isolation).

NEGATIVE!!!!

when my husband got covid he was sick as a dog for about 3 weeks. He lost his sense of taste, but it all came back pretty quick except for beer. It was about six months before beer tasted normal again.

Have you not tasted Old Milwaukee?

Or Australia's XXXX (Four X)?

Or Mexico's Corona?

Lucky you.

If Old Milwaukee had a taste, I would be worried. Oh, and I will never be that desperate for a beer.

There is a Two-Heartes Ale in my fridge that is crying. It is feeling alone and abandoned.

After I totally exhausted my body caring for my recently deceased MIL when Hubby could not lift her cuz he had surgery, I could not drink any alcohol of any kind. My body rebelled. The alcohol tasted TERRIBLE.

Thankfully that situation resolved itself.

On the plus side, the lack of an appetite (and probably lack of a nightly beer) and I have lost around 6-7 pounds. While I am pleased to have dropped a few, I would not recommend this for a diet plan.

I had a Two-Hearted Ale (a really good IPA from Bell's) last night. It tastes like a Two-Hearted Ale.

What is sort of odd is that, while I taste stuff fine, the interest in food and drink is less right now.
