Well this is way more awesome than I anticipated. Hope it holds.

That Quinnipiac poll is awesome!! I've been donating monthly to Sen. Warnock and I'm very, very happy to see it. Of course it's still early but I see no chance of Walker improving as a candidate. Maybe he will become desperate and agree to debate Warnock.

That adds up to 98%. Was it here that I read there’s not many undecided left in Georgia, if so that poll confirms that. It’s just a matter of how badly the Republicans can suppress democratic turnout.

538 presently predicts Georgia is the best chance for Republicans to pick up a seat (and hence control of the Senate).
This is faint praise. Walker isn't considered a strong candidate; he's considered the least weak of the Republican contenders. (Oz is technically defending a Republican seat, but he's also presently behind in the polls.)
The tightest races are Nevada, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. Democrats are barely leading in the two of the seats they are defending, and barely leading for the one seat they might pick up.
Meaning, if those were the results in November (Democrats gain Pennsylvania, hold Nevada and Arizona, lose Georgia, and the front runner wins every other contest), then in 2023 the Senate would continue to be tied, with Harris being the tiebreaker.

Let's hope Herschel Walker pulls crazier and crazier Herschel Walkers from here through November. I'm curious how the debate will go.

So here's my take on Walker's candidacy: supporting this unwell and unqualified man for the U. fucking S. fucking Senate is one of the most racist moves the GOP has ever made. It's not tokenism; they want him to win and continue to be the disaster he is because he is their wet dream version of a black man: ignorant and violent. That'll teach you libs and your civil rights.
Hearing his staffers, who, y'know, WORK FOR HIM, insult and ridicule him is the whole point.
I feel sick.

My brain wants to explode at the thought of even the possibility of Walker beating Warnock. Such a thing just cannot be possible.

I'm just as cynical. It's the John McCain/Sarah Palin play. Republicans thought that somehow McCain would win based off Sarah Palin because she was a woman. Just as they thought Georgians will vote for any black man regardless of his qualifications. It's the crap Republicans said about Obama except Obama was actually intelligent, articulate and a family man.

It got me thinking about Bush Senior choosing Dan Quayle, “Some” people were saying it was because he was handsome and women would vote for him.

Walker is looking for a touchdown and a field goal. Just gave some buckaroos to Warnock, may he crush Walker like a bug.

Herschel Walker is very upset this Senate poll out of Georgia keeps getting retweeted:
Raphael Warnock 54%
Herschel Walker 44%
If you are in a position to make a contribution to Raphael Warnock directly please consider retweeting and doing so:

There was an old Elayne Boosler bit about that which went something like this:Slim Cognito wrote: ↑Fri Jul 08, 2022 12:48 pm It got me thinking about Bush Senior choosing Dan Quayle, “Some” people were saying it was because he was handsome and women would vote for him.
"So they picked a guy who voted against every women's issue ever, why? Because he's handsome. BECAUSE HE'S HANDSOME. Like every woman in America thinks like some bowling alley waitress, going "<long drag on cigarette noise> Yeah, I know he's a bastard, but I love him anyway.""
I still can hear most of that in her voice. And the bowling alley waitress voice she adopted. There's a piece of my brain which holds on to it and won't let go.

I don't have anything nice to say, so I'll hold my tongue, but I sure hope Georgians don't elect this guy to serve in the Senate for the next six years.

Yeah, I dunno, but this is why Congress created things like the EPA to handle regulations, rather than deciding on the regulations themselves. As SCOTUS now requires.
