A woman, who Brown said was part of the group that fled, was electrocuted and suffered a serious burn injury after falling onto the train tracks. She is in critical condition, Brown said.

If she was electrocuted she isn't in a critical condition, she's dead.

A 15-year-old who was airlifted to the hospital Thursday morning after being shot in west Harris County has died, deputies confirmed.
He was only two days shy of his 16th birthday, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
The shooting happened just before 7 a.m. in the 7000 block of Pavilion Drive.
Gonzalez said the teen was leaving his home near Bellaire and Highway 6 when he met with a group of male teenagers.

I can't cope with this. I'm feeling that I was stupid to returned to the US from Oz.

Re: Another Shooting
We're looking into relocating...somewhere else. Ireland has a lot of tech jobs, right? Scared to death tfg is going to go back in come 2024, that would just be the icing on the shitshow cake. They had an interview with a dad that lost his child in TX. His child had just turned 10, they still had birthday party decorations up. His child is never coming home. My child just turned 10. We still have birthday party decorations up. I'm dropping him off at camp looking around, someone could just walk in there with a gun, there is effectively nothing to stop them, and just light up the place. We want to keep him home forever. This is no way to live our lives.

So why is a retired federal agent from Texas frequently white supremacist chat rooms? We need to clean our house.

Or…come to California, the least insane state. The fruits and nuts have mellowed into a delicious compote and the 2nd amend is not as worshipped here.
Arizona is NOT the place.
Arizona is NOT the place.

Reading the comments, the right wing assumption seems to be that the 'deep state' coerced the guy into shooting people.raison de arizona wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 12:35 pm So why is a retired federal agent from Texas frequently white supremacist chat rooms? We need to clean our house.

Since the agent is retired, nothing can be done further.
As per article the shooter invited 30 people to his rant, did not mention anything about how many actually joined. Of course nobody can prove that anyone listened any length of time and did see the name of the threatened location. For those who may have wanted to make a report none would likely have been able to make a quick report, the 911 calls go local and dispatchers may hsve also been confused how to handle a reference to a remote police force and how to note down a reference to some dubious social media platform. To note that the alleged time to action was only 30 minutes.

Random
Mental illness, touted as the only reason for mass shootings by Republicans, is fucking ridiculous and false. People with mental illnesses are not more prone to violence.
The mental illness is our gun-tastic society. The 2nd Amendment has been bastardized and has caused twenty years of terror in schools, movie theaters, shopping malls and entertainment venues. Not to mention domestic violence, suicide and accidental gun deaths. Our children are terrorized, we have had a psychological shift - not in a good way -
Yesterday, I encountered an elderly person* who said this:
"Of course it's horrible! But more children die of cancer each year. And what are we doing about that?"

The correct answer is we're looking for solutions to cancer. Doctors and scientists are constantly researching cures for the many kinds of cancer. It's a non-stop effort. But, cancer doesn't walk into a classroom killing everyone instantly.Patagoniagirl wrote: ↑Sat May 28, 2022 10:14 am "Of course it's horrible! But more children die of cancer each year. OTOH, exposure to bullets don't kill you over a thirty year period. The fact is no one wants to discuss realistic solutions to gun violence. It's kryptonite because the GOP made it so. It's not actually poisonous. There can be discourse, and it can be legislated if such discussions were allowed.

Saying to stop gun violence we need more guns makes about as much sense as saying that to stop abortions we need more women to have abortions.

Saying we can't stop gun violence by banning guns but we can stop abortions by banning abortions makes no sense either.

Nope. The leading cause of death for children in 2020 was gun shot wounds.Patagoniagirl wrote: ↑Sat May 28, 2022 10:14 am Random
