Re: The Stupid Thread
Thanks RTH, I'd never heard of that wood-burning art, and I certainly don't plan to have a go now!
Big Clive's videos are mildly addictive, with his soothing accent and impressive knowledge. I know little of electronics, just enough to follow what he's saying, but it's fascinating to see a piece of kit deconstructed and critiqued. Perhaps my first encounter with his videos was when I wondered how nonsensical were the claims of people selling those plug-in devices that claim to reduce domestic electricity bills by improving the power factor. (Spoiler: power factor is irrelevant to domestic energy charges in most countries, and anyway a domestic user's power factor is unlikely to be really great.)

I don't watch The Blaze, I had no idea this level of vitriol was going on over there.

So the dude walked into a concealed-carry class and started to rifle (ha!) through a student's unattended backpack, which had an unattended firearm in it.Man attempts rob a concealed carry class, gets shot by everyone
Does that student fail the class?

This is why we need basic education in this country, including sex education and biology.

Well, since plant based "milk" isn't actually milk.......
Re: The Stupid Thread
Look, this is starbucks. They are monetizing the cachet of 'plant-based milk' ..
If you don't like it, go to an independent coffee shop. Oh, what's that you say? Not as much press from gluing yourself to the counter at Fred's Beans?

I make mine at home and I still had to superglue myself to the kitchen counter, because plant-based milk is more expensive than cow's milk, regardless where you go to buy it.pipistrelle wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 5:01 pm If’n I was that picky about my beverages, I’d make them at home.
So, umm ... how do you get this stuff off of chicken feathers?

Do you think this guy can afford some extra change a drink to get the vegan “milk”?

Maybe when they raise the prices for everything to cover the cost of the fake "milk" all the normal people will go glue themselves to the counter.

All the BS going on in the world but THIS is the issue that caused James to take a protest stand seat -- the price of plant-based "milk".

Re: The Stupid Thread
Is it against the law to call plant-based "milk" milk in Europe or am I just making that up? It's stuck in my head.

Plant-based foods now cannot be sold in the European Union using terms such as milk, butter, and cheese. According to the court’s decision, the term is reserved by EU law for milk of animal origin or products directly derived from bovine milk.

That'll do Pig, that'll do.
Its sold here, but as you can see on the packet "Mlk" does not appear. Its put into the milk part of the Shop, however, and online shops will still put it on their sites as "Soya Milk." I'll be honest, I hadn't even noticed that "milk" is not on their packaging. Thats really subtle advertising.raison de arizona wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 6:09 pm Is it against the law to call plant-based "milk" milk in Europe or am I just making that up? It's stuck in my head.
This is on the tesco site as "Alpro Almond Longlife Milk Alternative 1L"

Whelp, he asked for it. Not that it actually mattered to him, it's just a talking point that he will undoubtedly continue to repeat, without regard to its veracity.
