I think it’s “filed.”
Why did he make him AG and never fire him if he was so terrible?
Rigg?He has now been classified as a Habitual Offender on the “Rigg” thing. Isn’t there anyone around to tell him?

Recently people were chuckling about the former guy posting on Truth Social that Cohen is a "cereal liar."

The Golden Hinde (launched 1973) is a full-size replica of the Golden Hind (launched 1577). She was built using traditional handicrafts at Appledore, in Devon.[1] She has travelled more than 140,000 mi (230,000 km), a distance equal to more than five times around the globe. Like the original ship, she has circumnavigated the globe.
Construction
Front view, cramped in between tall buildings in a small dock on the River Thames
The figurehead
Golden Hinde was commissioned by Albert Elledge and Art Blum of San Francisco, designed by naval architect Loring Christian Norgaard and built by J Hinks & Son of Appledore. The keel was laid on 30 September 1971 and construction took two years. She was launched on 5 April 1973 by Diana, Countess of Devon.[2]
Specifications:[3][1]
Masts: 3
Sails 6, 5 square sails and lateen
Hull: Iroko planking on oak frames with an elm keel.[2]
Hull dimensions:
Length:
Overall: 121 ft 4 in (37.0 m)
Hull: 102 ft (31.1 m)
Waterline: 75 ft 1 in (22.89 m)
Breadth: 22 ft (6.7 m)
Draft (max): 14 ft (4.3 m)
Displacement: 290 long tons (290 t)
Beam: 22 ft 11 in (6.99 m)
Height of mainmast: 92 feet (28 m)
Sail area: 4,150 square feet (386 m2)
Speed (sail): 8 knots (15 km/h)
Steering: Drake used a pole attached to the rudder called a "whipstaff". For safety, a conventional wheel is used in the replica.
Capstan: used for hauling up the anchor, located in the armoury and gun deck
Crew complement: 80–85
Armaments: 22 guns
2 peteras (small guns) on the poop deck
2 peteras on the foredeck
2 falcons (long-range guns using two pound shot) in the forecastle
2 falcons in the stern

Since you seem to maybe know something about ships... do you know what they called the "gunwale" of a ship before guns were invented? I ask because I read books that are often set in pre-gun times, yet the author will talk about people climbing in over the gunwales or the cargo being stacked as high as the gunwale, and it always stands out to me as really weird, especially after I looked up "gunwale" and found the definition said its the top of the side of the ship, "where guns would be mounted."
Any ideas? Thanks!

Of which I give the most credence to:
A gunwale is the upper edge of a boat's hull, where it meets the deck*. The word comes for Old Norse gunnr, meaning "shield", and originally referred to the top plank (wale) of a ship's side.
(noting an alternative is the Old Norse gundr which means "War" - I prefer gunnr as the source as the upper plank(wale) shielded the rowers from the sea as well as being somewhere handy to hang your shields)
*in a Old Norse long boat the deck was below the waterline

Thank you! That's actually kind of funny because most of the books I'm reading are set in the Viking Era, so for it to come from Old Norse is rather appropriateDave from down under wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 3:11 am A number of alternative views at the below web site -

He was such a bad acting chief that he stayed in the position for 15 months, the second longest-serving Chief under Trump (Kelly was two months longer).
