I’d be surprised if Trump actually owns any of those properties. I don’t know how civil asset forfeiture works with respect to properties owned wholly or jointly by shell companies.

The only experience I remember with civil forfeiture is that the LE seize first and ask questions later.

Yeah, and I know they don’t waste time seizing assets where the entire purpose of the shell company is to launder money or avoid sanctions, like they did earlier this year with some Russian Oligarchs. But Mar-a-Lago and Bedminster probably aren’t that. It’ll be interesting, for sure.

I admit it would be a hoot for the feds to sell M-a-L to, say, the DNC at auction.

MAL is garish with the current occupant, and considering the understated behaviors of other extremely wealthy folks, garish is not a dirty enough word. That opulent lifestyle has historical significance as to the Gilded Age, and actually beautiful for that reason. Now, there is no amount of disinfectant to wipe MAL clean from the shit stain that is trump.
