When reached for comment on his impending trip, Cruz' office said they did not disclose his schedule in advance for "security and privacy reasons."

Judiciary hearing ERUPTS as Mazie Hirono tells Ted Cruz to stop 'MANSPLAINING'

A Senate Judiciary Committee hearing turned contentious on Wednesday with Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) telling Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) to stop "mansplaining" amid an argument about originalism in judicial rulings.

"I would ask that Senator Cruz not mistake what I'm saying and, you know what, all this mansplaining — please stop," Hirono said.

Cruz had been questioning District Court Judge Gustavo Gelpi, who President Biden had nominated to sit on the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and objected when his inquiries were cut short at the end of his allotted five minutes.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) is skipping the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Dallas, Texas, this weekend, citing family obligations.

“While Big Tech, Hollywood, and the woke mob are desperate to cancel and silence conservatives, they cannot stop us or great events like CPAC from standing strong and fighting for the American revival. I wish I could attend CPAC Dallas with so many great conservatives but I am unable to due to a family commitment,” Cruz said in a statement to The Dallas Morning News.

“I look forward to joining the great conservative voices and activists shortly as we continue together to keep America the freest and greatest nation the world has ever known,” Cruz added.


CPAC is set to start this weekend on Friday and will end on Sunday with a speech by former President Trump.

The conference will be hosted at the Hilton Anatole close to downtown Dallas and is the second CPAC event this year.
