A Seattle church was targeted with racist messages written in hay that said, "F--- China" and "You will pay," church officials said.

The International Full Gospel Fellowship Church in Seattle said someone left the offensive messages in hay in their parking lot on Monday, marking the fourth such attack this year.

Some of the racist messages messages said, "You will pay" and "Go home."

Church office manager Anastasia Antonius told ABC News the church was targeted with the hate messages once in January, twice in February and on Monday, and all incidents involved racist statements.

He is facing four counts of murder and a charge of aggravated assault, according to the county sheriff's office. He also has been charged with more four counts of murder, Atlanta Police Department said.

A law enforcement source told CNN that Long was recently kicked out of the house by his family due to his sexual addiction, which, the source said, included frequently spending hours watching pornography online.

Bottoms said "it would be appropriate" if Long was charged with a hate crime.

"Sex" is a hate crime category under Georgia's new law. If Long was targeting women out of hatred for them or scapegoating them for his own problems, it could potentially be a hate crime.

Washington — President Biden on Thursday ordered flags at the White House and on federal grounds in the U.S. and abroad to be flown at half-staff after eight people, including six women of Asian descent, were fatally shot at spas near Atlanta.

The president directed the flags be lowered until sunset on March 22 "as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence" on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Mr. Biden said on Twitter that he and first lady Dr. Jill Biden "are keeping everyone impacted by the shootings in Atlanta in our prayers."

Police on Thursday said their investigation has revealed that the suspect in Tuesday’s spa shooting spree in the metro area had visited both of the northeast Atlanta locations in the past.

“I can say that he had frequented both of those locations,” deputy police Chief Charles Hampton Jr. said at a news conference Thursday. “Unfortunately, they were at that location. I can’t say that he specifically targeted those individuals. He did frequent those two locations.”

The suspect, Robert Aaron Long, was arrested in South Georgia on Tuesday night. The 21-year-old from Woodstock has been charged with eight counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault.

Well I can't speak for current practice in the Asian/Islander community in the USA of course, but I can report that it is quite common for Asians and Islanders to have 'dual' names in Australia.

I know many Chinese, Vietnamese, Thais, Malaysians, and Indonesians with names used in public and names used within their families and close friends. And this is true of first generation as well as subsequent generations.

You might be surprised to know that American First Nations folk also have tribal names alongside their western names.

A Georgia sheriff’s office captain has been replaced as the spokesman in the investigation into the recent massage parlor slayings after the spokesman drew widespread outrage for saying the suspect in the killings had had a “really bad day.”

Cherokee County Communications Director Erika Neldner announced in a statement Thursday that she will be handling media inquiries related to Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office’s investigation into Tuesday’s slayings.

The statement did not give details about the status of Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Jay Baker, who was criticized for saying during a news conference Wednesday that the 21-year-old suspect had had “a really bad day” and “this is what he did.”

Earlier Thursday, Sheriff Frank Reynolds issued a statement acknowledging that some of Baker’s comments stirred “much debate and anger” and said the agency regrets any “heartache” caused by his words.

ATLANTA — The conservative Baptist church attended by the accused Atlanta gunman expelled him from its congregation Sunday morning, saying he is no longer considered a “regenerate believer in Jesus Christ."

“He was racked with a very specific kind of guilt — which is to say religious,” Bayless said. “He was militant about it. I mean, this was the kind of guy who would hate himself for masturbating, would consider that to be a relapse.”

Experts this week have said the mentality Bayless described is common within evangelical “purity culture,” which teaches that sexual desire outside of marriage is sinful and those who fail to control their lust are sometimes considered “sex addicts.” The church’s bylaws assert that adultery, fornication and pornography are “sinful and offensive to God.”

In both 2019 and 2020, Long had spent time at HopeQuest, an evangelical treatment facility in nearby Acworth specializing in sex addiction and pornography addiction, as well as “gay conversion therapy.” That facility is less than a mile from Young’s Asian Spa — the site of Long’s first attack on Tuesday evening.

A woman of Asian descent was violently assaulted in New York City on Sunday while she was traveling to a protest against anti-Asian violence in what police are calling a hate crime.

The 37-year-old woman, who was not identified, was walking in lower Manhattan when a man approached her and snatched her protest sign, the New York Police Department said Monday.

"The individual attempted to place the sign into a garbage can but then placed the sign on the ground and stomped on it," the NYPD said. "When the victim asked the male why he did that, he punched her twice in the face with a closed fist."

The suspect fled onto the nearby Astor Place subway station and the victim was treated for minor injuries at a city hospital, according to police.

A man urinated on an Asian woman aboard a Queens-bound subway train over the weekend, cops said Monday.

The disgusting act unfolded around 1:30 p.m. Saturday when the creep pulled out his penis on an F train and started to relieve himself, according to police.

The horrified woman, who is in her 20s, shifted down the train, but the man then turned and started peeing on the subway seat next to her, splashing her with urine, cops said.

“He started standing really close to me and I began to feel uncomfortable,” the woman told blog AsianFeed. “So I scooted to my right and noticed that his penis was pointed at me and that there was urine on my bag and jacket.”
