I'm a masochist and listen to conservative radio in the morning, just a small dose to keep a finger on the pulse, so to speak. And it is infuriating that I know damn well that tomorrow morning those clowns are going to be talking about that the only way to prevent this is to get more guns into the schools, mandates that teachers carry in order to protect their students. The more extreme ones will undoubtedly cross into allowing responsible students to carry as well. :explode:

Uvalde is a city of about 16,000. It is about 79% Hispanic and 19% nonHispanic white.

Almost a third of residents are below the poverty line including 40% of those under age 18.

Whole days go by lately without me checking the news. Days like this, where 1 wounded turns into 14 dead…undo me.

Elementary kids!!! :crying: Sadly, this sounds like another mental health breakdown. Good Lord, what’s happening to us?

Checked in on FoxNews for ten minutes.
  • We need to harden our soft targets. Soft targets are schools.
  • Hardening involves locking every door and controlling access to the campus, big encircling fences.
  • Every school in the US need 4-5 armed officers at every access point.
  • We need to have more teachers carrying guns in class.
  • This is not political, this is non-partisan and something everyone should be able to support.
  • We have funding, because during Covid we had money for kids to wear masks and learn about social distancing, so the money is there.
  • Democrats will try to make this about guns, it is not about guns, it is about a sick individual. It is far too early to be talking about guns in the aftermath of this event.

So.. the standard 'the solution to gun violence is more guns'. You would think if this were the case, we would see a reduction in gun violence as the number of guns increase. But nah, that involves actually checking and that calls into question common sense.

It's a shame they can't get as many parents banning guns at the school board meetings as they get parents banning books.

Okay fine, you don't want this to be about guns but about a sick individual...

1. What is the GOP doing to help sick individuals.

2. What is the GOP doing to keep guns out of the hands of sick individuals.

3. How do you expect a sick individual not to turn to guns when the right-wing noise machines loudly scream that guns are freedom and a fix for every ill.

And for those on the right who like to proclaim guns and call themselves Christian....

ALLOWING A SICK PERSON TO GET AHOLD OF GUNS IN UNCHRISTIAN AND A SIN!!!!

PROCLAIMING THE GLORY OF GUNS OVER THE HEALING OF THOSE THAT ARE ILL IS A SIN!!!

IGNORING THOSE WHO ARE ILL BECAUSE IT IS NOT YOUR PROBLEM (AND IS COMMIE-LIKE) IS A SIN!!!

Sorry for the shouting.

.
@fred_guttenberg
on MSNBC: "People failed. I'm done. They fucking failed our kids again, ok? I'm done. I've had it ... I'm gonna listen to that governor of Texas talk about why he pushed for laws in Texas that made it easier for guns to be had by those who want to kill?"

David Jolly on MSNBC: "If more guns made us safer, we’d be the safest nation in the world, and we’re not."

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has some thoughts on the #Uvalde shooting:
-He blames the teachers.
-For not coming to class every morning armed to the teeth. Locked and loaded, flak vests on, and ready to kill.

Ken Paxton should shut the f%$k up and then crawl in a hole and die. Still don't know why he isn't in prison yet.

How could it be worse? Like this. :( :( :( :( :(

The gunman was identified as 18-year-old Salvador Ramos. Officials said he killed 18 children and three adults. Three people wounded in the attack are hospitalized in serious condition. Federal law enforcement officials said the death toll was expected to rise, according to the Associated Press.
