This may be news to some in the WH...
Trump says he will be signing an executive order (he calls it a bill) soon and says there will be a “road to citizenship” for DACA.

Surprise to some in Congress too.

There is ZERO constitutional authority for a President to create a “road to citizenship” by executive fiat.
It was unconstitutional when Obama issued executive amnesty, and it would be a HUGE mistake if Trump tries to illegally expand amnesty.

He's so desperate. It's hilarious!
He can't executive order a "path/road to citizenship" ... Obama didn't do anything close to that. DACA is "deferred action" -- follow these rules and stay outa trouble and you won't be deported with DACA status -- while we wait for Congress to get their sh*t together.Orlylicious wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 8:09 pm Folks at the Gateway House of Boys (and Pundits) aren't sure what to think...![]()
He has to walk it back, it's totally opposite what he sold them. Let's see how long it takes, it's only been a few hours. They are furious at the concept on Twitter. Concern troll alert if you're into that (lots of "he's losing my vote if he does that")![]()

And poor Susan Collins doesn’t know if she should be worried, disturbed, or concerned.

BREAKING: Judge orders restoration of DACA, opening immigration program to new applicants for first time since 2017
https://t.co/oLrDoMbqTE?amp=1
Judge Nicholas Garaufis of the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn instructed the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to post a public notice by Monday that states the department will accept and adjudicate Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) petitions from immigrants who qualify for the program but are not currently enrolled in it.
Garaufis also instructed officials to grant approved applicants work permits that last for two years, instead of the one-year period proposed by the Trump administration over the summer.
An estimated one million undocumented immigrant teens and young adults who qualify for DACA on paper could apply in the wake of Friday's order.
Garaufis' order follows an another order he issued in November that found Acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf did not have the legal authority to close DACA to new applicants or shorten the validity period of the work permits and protections from deportations that the program's beneficiaries receive. Garaufis reached this conclusion after determining that Wolf's appointment violated the Homeland Security Act of 2002.
