It's my understanding that a "short and plain statement" is the minimum, not a reason to strike if the plaintiff adds other stuff.

Trump takes over Fourth of July celebration, changing its location and inserting himself into the program
One of the jokes in the comment section:
White House Aide: I had a dream Mr. President that you finally got your huge parade on Pennsylvania Avenue with flags waving, streets so crowded it was unlike anything anyone had experienced before, loud cheering crowds that were jumping up and down with glee.

President: Did I look pleased?

White House Aide: I don't know...it was a closed casket.

I think SLQ is right regarding the removal of material - the claim should be short and plain, but we've seen lots that aren't, but where nothing is struck. Too, also, it's not like striking makes the material go away. It's still going to be on the docket and in public view.

The injunctive relief thing may be another matter. I doubt the plaintiff has a cause of action that would let her get some sort of injunctive relief for herself; there's no chance she has standing to obtain injunctive relief on anyone else's behalf. That part of the complaint was shenanigans, and will go away at some point. The only question is when and through what procedural mechanism.

Whoever thought we’d have a POTUS who spends so much time thinking of stupid, childish nicknames for possible opponents?

Whoever thought we’d have a POTUS whose need for ego gratification is endless?

Whoever thought that a POTUS’s base would find such nonsense delightful?

Whoever thought we'd elect a p*ssy grabbing POTUS who's most known for a really bad 'reality' TV show?
But, hey, maybe this will bring back Mad TV -- which would be a great improvement over what passes for primetime TV today.

Trump takes over Fourth of July celebration, changing its location and inserting himself into the program
Officials told The Washington Post it is unclear how much the President's changes to the holiday celebration may cost, but the DC official said the city would expect the federal government to pay for any incurred cost from the new plans set forth by the President.

The Alfred E. Newman thing is another bit of projection.

If there's anyone who embodies "What? Me worry?" is it Donald J. Trump.

Big fan here of DC's fourth of July traditions. Used to go when I could, despite the crowd.

If I lived there I'd stay home this year. He'd still claim an empty Mall and Capitol Lawn got the bigliest crowd ever.

I wouldn't mind going for a protest march. I've always wanted to do July 4 at the Mall. But he'd just claim we were there to support him.

Donald Trump will not address Parliament during state visit to the UK

https://www.politicshome.com/news/world ... ent-during
The US President will arrive for a three-day state visit on 3 June, and there had been speculation that he would follow in the footsteps of his predecessor Barack Obama by delivering a speech to MPs and peers.

But a Whitehall source said: "Donald Trump will definitely not be addressing Parliament while he is here."

Commons Speaker John Bercow said in 2017 that he would block any moves for the President to address Parliament because of MPs' "opposition to racism and to sexism".
Trump won't get to do what Obama did. He won't be happy. ;)

But I hear they are building an even bigger baby Trump blimp to honor his visit. So he'll have that.

Reed is arguing that Trump's business failures are just a part of "being in the arena" and every businessman has had his share of failures.

That makes about as much sense as saying that a heart surgeon whose patients die on the table is still a good doctor.

AT&T is running several commercials with the theme, Just ok is not ok. When reading this, I immediately flashed on the carnival version where mom asks if the ride is safe and the carny says he thinks he did an "ok job," and if there's a problem, the carnival will just move on to the next town.

From now on, I will only see trump's face on that carny.

FWIW, the guy who plays the carny is Matty Cardarople, a very funny guy who is one of those actors who is in everything but nobody knows who he is.

This didn't age well. From 11/4/16 -

Calm down. We’ll be fine no matter who wins.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions ... 52e1bbf910
If Trump wins, he’ll be held more or less in check by the House and Senate because that’s the way our system of government is set up. Not even Republicans are eager to follow Trump’s lead.

There won’t be a wall. He won’t impose any religion-based immigration restrictions, because even Trump isn’t that lame-brained. He’ll dress up and behave at state dinners and be funny when called upon. He’ll even invite the media to the White House holiday party. He won’t nuke Iran for rude gestures. He won’t assault women. He and Vladimir Putin will hate each other, respectfully.
