I saw someone in uniform in the last day or two who said that releasing it to private industry for the states to bid on was the American way. I couldn't stop screaming at the TV.

FEMA outbids the states and snatches up the ventilators for Jared's stockpile.

So as I understand it. The national stockpile acquires “stuff” using your tax dollars.

Later, they release the “stuff” to distributors who sell it to the states.

The states pay for it using, your tax dollars.

So you’re paying twice.

This is a long twitter thread going into detail about this

Now I have zero problem thinking the that T and K would do this, but I have a hard time believing even the hollowed out remains of the Federal Government would go along with it.

You are gonna have to go into more detail on that, as he always does.

Trump: "There's a possibility, a possibility, and I say it: what do you have to lose?...Take it. I really think they should take it."

He adds, "Hydroxychloroquine. Try it. If you'd like."

This is dangerous.

Fauci says drugs need to be tested before use. Trump says we should take them anyway. Fauci and Birx said we need to stay home for the foreseeable future. Trump says he wants to open up the country soon.
This is the worst briefing.

Trump falsely claims that people getting on and off planes are being tested for the coronavirus. There is no testing for people getting on and off planes.

MSNBC showed every bloody minute. I had it on mute while I did other things, waiting for it to end because I thought Nicolle Wallace was going to do follow-up. Two and a half hours. Fucking 150 minutes of propaganda and lies and medical malpractice so bad you can practically count the additional dead people. No one has the guts to stop this (talking about you, GOP). Our rudderless country is crashing on the rocks as I write.

I don't watch any of it or even leave the channel on any more. I heard it was really bad today. I guess that was right. I had the Murder Channel on in the background. Much more uplifting. ;)

[imgwidth=][/imgwidth]Incompetence? Or total competence?

What’s he trying to accomplish? Saving America or hastening her demise?

My sneaking suspicion is that his performance is part of his larger arrangement with TOC*. Also Too he hates us because we don’t love him enough to make up for whatever he lacks.

He’s a psychopath.

I do not think trump is imaginative enough to actually be trying to accomplish anything. I think he is just responding to things based off the last thing he was told, and the people who have his ear have a wide range of objectives, some of them incompatible.

A major bit though... the GoP knew the economy was going to slow down and go into recession before not too much longer, and a lot of the whispers in his ear seemed to be aimed at maximizing profits while hopefully delaying the downturn till after a democrat was in office. Now, I am not sure they have so much a grand strategy as a bunch of opportunists getting whatever they can out of the situation, with trump being easy to convince into doing whatever they want, at least for the next 15 minutes.
