I've been following some polls for this race for a few months now and have been wondering why Real Clear Politics had it listed as one of their "Toss Ups". Sen Stabenow seemed to have a lead deserving of at least "Leans Democratic" for some time now. On March 22 or 23 (sorry, I forgot to post) RCP moved the race from "Toss Up" to "Leans Democratic".
Beginning Aug 20 it appeared former Congressman Peter Hoekstra was making significant progress against Sen Stabenow. Then Sept 1 Hoekstra's poll numbers began to take a nose dive. At the same time Sen Stabenow's poll numbers began climbing almost as fast as Hoekstra's were droping.http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n63 ... 10-02b.jpg[/break1]realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/senate/mi/michigan_senate_hoekstra_vs_stabenow-1817.html]http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls ... -1817.htmlMaybe Hoekstra should consider re-running his "Debbie Spenditnow" ad that appeared during this year's Super Bowl. The rates should be a whole lot cheaper now and the political advetisement did provide him a lot of attention.Yeah. That's what he should do. You're welcome, douchebag.
Debbie Stabenow leads Pete Hoekstra 55-42 in a race that never really got competitive.Pete Hoekstra's favorability numbers slipped under water after his controversial Super Bowl ad and never recovered. Only 36% of voters have a favorable opinion of him to 41% with a negative one. Stabenow has a solid 49/38 approval spread and is out running Obama because she's winning over 15% of Republicans and has a 53/41 advantage with independents. I'm always grateful when Republicans give Democratic candidates a huge assist. Thank you douchebag (aka Hoekstra). The Super Bowl ad can be viewed 2 posts above.
