Some doggies, no matter how good, how enthusiastic, are just not cut out for a career as a service animal. Ryker, here, is one such doggie. (Note that these are professional service dog trainers.)

‘His eyes were so sad’: Oil rig crew rescues a dog swimming 135 miles off Thailand
Vitisak Payalaw and his crew were working on an oil rig 135 miles off the southern coast of Thailand on Friday when they spotted something unexpectedly bobbing in the gentle waves.

It was a dog.

The animal was fighting his way through the moving water, heading for the oil rig. As he approached the structure, Payalaw, an offshore planner for Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, held out a pole after the animal had splashed his way to the platform below the rig’s deck. As a video Payalaw posted to his Facebook account shows, the pup was soaked, shivering and too exhausted to whimper or bark.

“His eyes were so sad. He just kept looking up just like he wanted to say, ‘Please help me,’” Payalaw told CNN. “At that moment, whoever saw this, they would just have to help.”
:snippity:
According to Facebook pictures posted Monday by animal rights group Watchdog Thailand, when Boonrod stepped onto dry land, workers draped a garland of marigolds around his neck, a symbol of welcome and good fortune, the Times reported. The dog flashed a good-boy smile. :-D

Meet Adam. My wife and sister-in-law went out the other day and came home with a new family member. He's an 8 week old Toy Yorkie. I don't think he weighs two pounds right now and half of that is fur. He doesn't know he's a runt and has been chasing our 2 year old Schnauzer, Evie, all over the place. They seem to be having a lot of fun playing with each other though Evie wasn't too thrilled when Adam thought maybe she was his new mother and tried to feed...

I'm going to have to stop letting my wife and sister-in-law go out together unsupervised or we'll end up with a dozen puppies.

Thank you. She's getting deaf, and sometimes is a little short of energy these days, but 13 is not young for a 55-pound labradoodle. All in all, she's doing very well.

I am generally not a fan of small or toy dogs, but I love Yorkies.

Pound for pound they are feisty little buggers.

Funny you said that, I am also partial to larger breeds, but LOVE yorkies. They have the greatest personalities and are cuter than cute. This little guy is beyond adorable.

Chloe is a beauty. Labradoodles have a wonderfully regal and yet down to earth look about them.

I've never been a fan of toys myself, but Adam is pretty freaking cute and is just a tiny ball of energy. Luckily, he directs most of it at Evie which tires them both out. :-D

We don't keep kosher, but we did do an (abbreviated) Seder, and both doodles ate some matzo (which they liked better than the humans did-- maybe because matzo tastes like dog cookies?)
