I just keep waiting for someone who got hurt at one of the Walmarts to take them to court like they have cinemas and hotels.

Couple hurt in El Paso shooting sues Walmart for negligence
By Chris Perez September 4, 2019 | 8:31pm | Updated

A Texas couple injured in the El Paso shooting has filed a lawsuit against Walmart — where the Aug. 3 massacre took place — claiming it failed to protect them by not having any armed security guards at the store.

“Jessica Garcia and Guillermo Garcia’s injuries would not have occurred but for the negligence, gross negligence, and premises liability” of Walmart, the suit says.

The couple was shopping at the El Paso store with their two children when accused gunman Patrick Crusius went on his shooting rampage. Their lawsuit appears to be the first filed over the attack.

Bedbugs 'deliberately released' at Walmart in Pennsylvania
https://t.co/aZI2ThRQH2?amp=1
Police have not yet established a motive for the release of the insects at the Walmart, about 90 miles (145km) north-east of Cleveland.

The bedbugs were discovered by a Walmart manager on 2 January in a sealed pill bottle hidden inside a boy's jacket in the store's clothing department.

A health safety company was called to the store and confirmed the insects were bedbugs. The pest controller then found more bedbugs crawling around a men's fitting room.

Some of us are forced to go to Walmart to get our prescriptions.

A few months ago I was at our local Walmart here near the Arctic Circle. I was buying a few boxes of the hard to find Peet's coffee. As I was putting them on the conveyer belt at the checkout, a voice behind me asked "What's that Peet's coffee?" I turn around and see a late 60's guy in a fucking MAGA hat and handlebar mustache. I tell him it's good coffee. "Never heard of it! Where's it from?" Seattle, I tell him. "Ugh." I return home very proud that I didn't punch him in the face.

I always feel apprehensive when walking into any Walmart. I don't go there except if I'm picking up a prescription. I will not purchase anything else there in the future.

Shoppers sent into panic when man was shot at Walmart checkout line

https://abc13.com/5828487/?ex_cid=TA_KT ... ce=twitter
According to police, the shooting was a result of an ongoing dispute between two groups of people when they saw each other in the checkout line. The men began arguing until one pulled a gun and shot the other.

"There was a panic," Lt. Larry Crowson with Houston police said. "Anytime there is gunshots in a large building like this people get emotional, based on the things that have happened around the country. So there was a little bit of a panic."

The victim was transported to the hospital. Police say one suspect was found in the Walmart parking lot, where he was detained.

A second unrelated shooting also took place at a different Walmart near Humble.

BREAKING NEWS Broomfield police detain woman after shooting at Walmart
https://www.dailycamera.com/2020/02/18/ ... t-walmart/
One woman is in custody after a shooting inside a Broomfield Walmart store Tuesday afternoon.

Police said no one was injured in the shooting that was reported about 1:50 p.m. at the 4651 W. 121st Ave. store. Officials said the woman and a man were shooting at each other, not the crowd.

“We don’t know what happened,” Broomfield Police Sgt. Steve Griebel said. “Do we have two suspects? Do we have a victim and a suspect? Was it self defense? We have to do all the interviews first.”

He said police do not believe the shooting was random.

Interesting incident given we don't often hear of women shooting except to protect themselves. Even in Gunsmoke and The Rifleman, it was the men mostly slinging the guns.

W2 asked why it’s always Walmart. I said because that’s where the people are. Maine in Winter is pretty bleak for entertainment.
