They don't want to understand, and the mis-informers are happy to keep them that way.

Sound like approval will come well before January.
Pfizer and BioNTech said Friday that the US Food and Drug Administration has granted priority review designation to their application for full approval of their Covid-19 vaccine, and an FDA official said the decision will come "soon".

The FDA official told CNN on Friday that a decision on full approval is likely to come within two months. The agency considers this matter a priority, said the official, who asked not to be named because they were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

Pfizer and BioNTech began the application for full approval of their Covid-19 vaccine -- called a Biologics License Application -- in May, and have completed the submission. The companies are seeking approval for the two-dose series for people age 16 and older, and expects to apply for approval for people ages 12 to 15 when the data are available. Moderna has also begun submitting data for approval of its two-dose coronavirus vaccine, and Johnson & Johnson is expected to seek FDA approval.

While the FDA must make its decision by January, it's likely to come much sooner, acting FDA commissioner Dr. Janet Woodcock said. "...the review of this BLA has been ongoing, is among the highest priorities of the agency, and the agency intends to complete the review far in advance of the ... Goal Date," Woodcock tweeted.

Well that will be a great weight off everyone's shoulders and all these people that have been waiting for final approval can finally get vaxxed.

Wow, Chris Ruddy, Newsmax owner and friend of the disgraced loser, "applauds" Biden's vaccine rollout. First Tom Brady pokes fun at DL2XIT at the White House, now this drops. Maybe we're turning a corner.

Doctors, nurses and medical groups call for mandatory coronavirus vaccinations for health workers
The health and safety of the nation 'depends on it,’ says a statement signed by 57 groups.

Medical groups representing millions of doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other health workers on Monday called for mandatory vaccinations of all U.S. health personnel against the coronavirus, framing the move as a moral imperative as new infections mount sharply.

“We call for all health care and long-term care employers to require their employees to be vaccinated against covid-19,” the American Medical Association, the American Nurses Association and 55 other groups wrote in a joint statement shared with The Washington Post. “The health and safety of U.S. workers, families, communities, and the nation depends on it.”

The statement — issued by many groups urging a mandate for the first time — represents an increasingly tough stance by the medical and public health establishment amid the sluggish pace of national vaccinations. It comes as new cases rip through the nation, driven by the hyper-transmissible delta variant. Confirmed coronavirus infections have nearly quadrupled in July, from about 13,000 cases per day at the start of the month to more than 50,000 now, according to The Post’s tracking. Hospital leaders in states such as Alabama, Florida and Missouri have implored holdouts to get vaccinated, citing data that the shots prevent hospitalizations and even death.

But many workers in the health field remain unvaccinated, despite having priority access to coronavirus vaccines, which first became available in December. More than 38 percent of nursing workers were not fully vaccinated as of July 11, despite caring for patients at elevated risk of the coronavirus, according to data collected by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and analyzed by LeadingAge, which represents nonprofit nursing homes and other providers of elder care.

I'm continually amazed at the number of health care workers that refuse to be vaccinated. And I have one in my family, who suffered greatly in December when he had Covid. Arg. I whole heartedly support mandatory vax for health care workers.

What are the steps remaining to get full FDA approval for one or more COVID vaccines?

We need to get the "well it is not approved so you can't mandate it" bullshite off the table. And then roll the mandates.

I'm getting tired of this.

the Chinese vaccine
Indonesian Covid deaths add to questions over Sinovac vaccine
Health experts asking if medics should get other jabs after 10 fully vaccinated doctors die in June

Rebecca Ratcliffe South-east Asia correspondent

At least 10 out of 26 Indonesian doctors who have died from Covid-19 this month had been fully vaccinated with Sinovac, prompting health experts to consider whether medics should receive alternative doses to boost immunity.

Indonesia, which has relied on the Chinese-made vaccine for its health workers, is struggling with a new surge in coronavirus cases. The latest outbreak, driven by new variants, has overwhelmed hospitals and burial sites in Jakarta and on the island of Java. On Monday the country announced 20,694 new infections.

In Kudus, a town in central Java, more than 500 medical workers have tested positive for Covid-19 over the last two weeks, including one doctor who died. All were fully vaccinated.

Note: the medical field in Thailand is also questioning why people vaccinated with Sinnovvax have fallen ill. Sinnovax was the inital vaccine of choice.

Duceydouchebagsezwhat?
Governor Ducey Statement On Updated CDC Guidance
News ReleaseJuly 27, 2021
PHOENIX — Governor Doug Ducey today released the following statement in response to the updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

"Arizona does not allow mask mandates, vaccine mandates, vaccine passports or discrimination in schools based on who is or isn’t vaccinated. We’ve passed all of this into law, and it will not change.

"The CDC today is recommending that we wear masks in school and indoors, regardless of our vaccination status. This is just another example of the Biden-Harris administration’s inability to effectively confront the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Public health officials in Arizona and across the country have made it clear that the best protection against COVID-19 is the vaccine. Today’s announcement by the CDC will unfortunately only diminish confidence in the vaccine and create more challenges for public health officials 一 people who have worked tirelessly to increase vaccination rates.

"Here in Arizona, we’ve been consistent from the beginning: Arizonans should get this vaccine. Over 51 percent of our population has received at least one dose of the vaccine, and over 46 percent are fully vaccinated. That’s great news, and we’re going to continue to work to distribute this vaccine to Arizonans and build public confidence in its effectiveness, despite this unnecessary and unhelpful “guidance” from Washington, D.C."

"It's under consideration right now," Biden said when asked by ABC News if the federal government would expand the vaccine mandate. "But if you're not vaccinated, you're not nearly as smart as I thought you were."
I can't think of a more effective way to purge the federal government of OSG loyalists ;)

Some positive news...

‘A rush to get shots’
Vaccine holdouts in coronavirus hot spots including Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri are rolling up their sleeves as the delta variant hits home.
More than 4.7 million newly vaccinated Americans have made similar calculations in the past two weeks, as misgivings about the shots based on ideology, apathy or fear have taken a back seat to the desire to protect themselves and their loved ones.

“There’s a rush to get shots that correlates with delta’s rise and hospitalizations,” said Tesha Montgomery, who runs vaccine clinics for Houston Methodist Hospital. During the week of July 12, the system was giving first shots to about 400 people a day, she said. The week of July 19, that number jumped to 600 a day, and by this Monday, it was up to 1,000 a day.
:snippity:
In Arkansas, where the governor on Thursday reimposed a state of emergency and reported that all pediatric ICU beds were full, the number of vaccine doses being administered over the past month has gone from 27,000 a week on average, to 70,000 on average now.

A bit of good news is that more people are getting vaccinated now. Just wish it didn't take a spike in Covid cases to make that happen.

Jeff Zucker adds in his memo to CNN staff: "In the past week, we have been made aware of three employees who were coming to the office unvaccinated. All three have been terminated. Let me be clear -- we have a zero-tolerance policy on this."
