Anti-vaxxer rally in Honolulu yesterday. It was supposed to be huge, but only about 800 people showed up. Lots of Trump & Hawaiian sovereignty flags.

Outdoor gatherings are limited to 25. The police said that they tried to break it up into smaller groups, but did not have enough police to break up the protesters and write citations. The public is not happy about that!

Australia
There have been extraordinary scenes outside union offices in Melbourne as construction workers flew into violent rages against mandatory vaccination rules for their industry.

Glass bottles were pelted at the Melbourne headquarters of the CFMEU as the protest turned ugly, with the union blaming “outside extremists” for the violence.

Just before 4pm, the bottles were thrown at the already smashed glass entrance doors to the building in Melbourne’s CBD as those protecting the entry sought refuge indoors.

:snippity:

Hundreds of construction workers rallied throughout most of Monday in opposition to having to show proof of a COVID vaccination to be allowed back on building sites, with some saying they would rather the entire industry be shut down.

There is a 25 per cent cap on the industry’s workforce in Victoria, with tradies required to have had their first dose of a vaccine by this Thursday to be allowed back to work.

The CFMEU has a bit of a reputation for violence..
Outsiders weren’t necessarily there..

https://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2021-09- ... /100475328

The rising case numbers came as an anti-vaccination protest turned wild outside the CFMEU offices in Melbourne's CBD.

More than 500 construction workers protested outside the CFMEU (Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union) headquarters on Elizabeth Street against mandatory vaccinations.

The Victorian government is requiring all construction workers to have at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose by September 23.

Union secretary John Setka tried to speak to the largely unmasked crowd using a megaphone, offering to listen to workers.

An Adelaide court has issued a warrant for a man accused of holding multiple house parties during South Australia's last COVID-19 lockdown.

Key points:

Five people were arrested over an alleged illegal gathering at Lightsview in July
It was during South Australia's seven-day lockdown
One of the accused failed to attend court today
Bitanya Sibeko failed to appear for a hearing on his charge of failing to comply with a health directive.

He was one of five people arrested when police attended a house party in the suburb of Lightsview on July 26, allegedly for the fourth time in five days.

Magistrate Michelle Sutcliff issued a warrant for Mr Sibeko's arrest to ensure he attends court.

Coronavirus was the top cause of law enforcement deaths in the first six months of 2021, report says

Last year, COVID-19 killed more officers in the line of duty than any other cause. Out of the 295 officers who died in 2020, 182 were COVID-related deaths, according to data from the memorial fund.
But even as the Delta variant surges around the country, some police departments are struggling to get employees vaccinated against COVID-19. While 75.7 percent of adults in the United States have had at least one dose and nearly 65 percent are fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, police departments in New York and Los Angeles are reported to have substantially lower rates of vaccination.

Newberg school staffer shows up in Blackface
:snippity: The Blackface incident comes after a Newberg High School student was recently connected to a racist "slave trade" Snapchat group, a protest occurred in solidarity with Newberg's Black students by a visiting girls soccer team, and the school board's months-long controversial attempt to ban Black Lives Matter and Pride displays among other perceived "political" symbols.

Tai Harden-Moore, a Black woman and former candidate for school board who has children in the district, said she believes Newberg can and must be better than this incident. She drew a connection from county politics to Pefferle's actions.

"This makes sense only because we have our county commissioner, Mary Starrett, who drew that line between vaccine mandates and Jim Crow," Harden-Moore said. "That was only a couple months ago. Our county leadership is saying basic public health measures are akin to Jim Crow. There is a line between our political leadership and something like this happening. Our leadership matters."
Teachers and staff can protest all they want. The vaccine mandate is a state mandate for all school employees.

This staffer must be fired. There's nothing funny, powerful, or even controversial about this employee's racist shit.

Looking at vaccination rates for non COVID

“ Childhood immunisation coverage
Immunisation coverage is the percentage of children who have had all vaccines recommended for their age. For the Third quarter in a row we have met the target of 95% coverage for five year olds, with 95.18% coverage. Coverage for one year olds is 94.85%, and for two year olds is 92.63%.”

https://www.health.gov.au/health-topics ... n-coverage

https://www.health.gov.au/health-topics ... l-children

Which amongst parents suggests a 1 in 20 anti-vaccine population
(Or other reasons)

The improvement in childhood vaccination is shown in this:
