That’s the kind of thing, along with Navy sailors wearing Trump patches, that is horrifying.

Do proud boys wear some sort of insignia or something so people know who they are? And yes, that is a serious question.

I thought they didn’t but turns out a lot of them wear that black shirt that has a kind of gold logo on it.

The fist bump guy is wearing that polo.

You could argue the cop probably wasn’t aware. (I sure as hell wasn't)

Cop isnt looking at the guy at the time the photo was taken. Not saying that this does not deserve serious investigation, begause it does, but it could just be a cop responding to a guy "yelling up the police." or something like that. So beief greeting and the cop is back survaying the crowd.

I would imagine a cop on duty would be briefed on PB call signs and dress.

ANd I loved that there was a sign "Ash tray" pointing at the PB guys fist.

Is it possible that the cop is just trying to avoid anything confrontational?

Probably, or he just didn't know the guy was a proud boy. I've fist bumped, hugged, high fived and shook hands with people when I was in uniform just because they initiated it. Being decent and responsive to the general public is part of the job.

I hate to hear that about the shirts though. I gave my son one for Christmas.

What I see is the officer being courteous. But note his right hand is tense, which is where his service weapon is.

A Florida cop planted meth on random drivers, police say. One lost custody of his daughter.
Wester, who was fired last September, was arrested Wednesday and charged with 52 counts of racketeering, false imprisonment, official misconduct, fabricating evidence and possession of controlled substances, among other charges. He’s accused of indiscriminately targeting innocent drivers and hauling them off to jail after planting meth or marijuana in their vehicles while feigning a “search."

“There is no question that Wester’s crimes were deliberate and that his actions put innocent people in jail,” Chris Williams, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s assistant special agent in charge, said in a news release.
:snippity:
Investigators said at a news conference Wednesday that there did not appear to be any rhyme or reason to the drivers Wester, 26, singled out for false arrests on drug possession. Some were parents with a diaper bag in the back seat. Others were young men and women, some crying as they insisted they had never touched drugs, let alone meth, in their lives.

MSP troopers blow through stop sign, arrest driver that ran into them
Posted: 6:40 PM, Jul 04, 2019 Updated: 12:43 AM, Jul 05, 2019
By: Kimberly Craig

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Not even 30 seconds after a crash involving undercover Michigan State Police troopers and a civilian, the troopers ordered that civilian to the ground, threatening him with a taser and handcuffing him, according to his family.

"They were treating him like he was an illegal," said Maria Martinez. It was her 27-year-old son who was driving on Livernois around 9:15 pm Wednesday when the trooper driving the unmarked gray Jeep ran the stop sign on Cadet.

Carlos Martinez's red Honda crashed into the Jeep, causing the Jeep to spin 360 degrees before stopping next to a house where a surveillance camera captured all of it.

The undercover trooper, who was driving, got out of his crashed SUV, walked over to Martinez, who was slowly getting out of his car, and the trooper ordered Martinez to the ground. The trooper's partner then handcuffed him.

It's unclear why the troopers handcuffed Martinez. His relatives told 7 Action News that the troopers did not even ask him if he was injured before ordering him to the ground.

Wasn’t that little car going way too fast?

Hard to say. But even if - going too fast lets you not lose your ROW.

The cops' report of the accident will probably contain more lies than a Trump speech and cost them their job. It's always the cover-up.

The framerate of the video is kind of low but I estimate the red honda civics speed at 46 mph. Cop in the silver jeep patriot was going 16 mph. Residential speed limit in Michigan is 25.

And running a stop sign is illegal in every state.

Livernois is a collector road at that point. It's an arterial street on other stretches.

Stop signs are not suggestions, even for police (without active lights or siren).

Take away -- I love that in this day and age we have more and more homes with outdoor security cameras -- catching porch pirates, home intruders, and misbehaving cops. The police would have acted differently if they knew that home's camera was recording everything.

If the comment about arterial road is meant to suggest the speed limit is higher, if you scroll down to 1556 Livernois you can see the posted speed limit is 25.

And the lawyers can correct me if this is wrong but the cop running a stop sign doesn’t mean the red civic is off the hook for speeding.

Anyways I was responding to Whatever4s comment about the civics speed. There’s two possible things the cop could be behaving badly about, running the stop sign and arresting the red civic.

Actually, even with lights and sirens they are bound by the rules of the road with some narrow exceptions. Watch closely the next time you see a fire truck, police car or ambulance go through a red light. I don't know about other places, but here even cops chasing someone can only (legally) exceed the posted speed by 25 mph. Our city doesn't allow police chases AT ALL, but when they did, 25 mph over was the limit, not always adhered to though.

No, it was simply to illustrate that the road had the right of way, and that the residential roads feeding it had stop signs.

Although, looking at the map, the road goes from two way, two lanes down to one way at some point. yet it’s still functioning as a collector.

I bet there are lots of accidents on this road.
