I take pride in being anti-conspiracy theory. I do my best to attribute things to stupidity and incompetence rather than malice. But even I'm looking at this one and going, "I don't know, something seems strange." Dude's in the special housing unit. He tried to commit suicide two weeks ago. And it seems likely that a lot of rich people may have had motive.

The investigation on this one better be really thorough.
I too think this warrants a full investigation. Something like this can make me understand why some would consider a host of possible conspiracies on this. Unfortunately, it also leaves me with the same hunch that, if more powerful folk could make this happen, they can also spike any investigation.

Now, unlike what other conspiracies might contain, if I were entertain one, it would be that the staff turned their head on him. They did not need to cause anything but just give him the opportunity. If I have to consider a conspiracy, I like the consider the simpler one.

I think the problem with any of these conspiracy theories is that Epstein's testimony (provided he was willing to squeal) is not the only evidence they have on any co-conspirators.
Which is a very good point, and why it is always important to look at all possibilities and not just assume a conspiracy.

Anybody else compiling a wish list if people they want to see go down in flames once all this shit is sorted out? If it's true nobody else can contest the search warrant (I would think whoever is in charge of his estate could do that, but IANAL) and all of that eventually comes out, I'm not-so-secretly hoping Kavanaugh is at the top of the list, along with a whole bunch of other people I had never even heard of 2 years ago.

And I think "suicide" should be in quotes every time it's mentioned in the media.

From NBC News:
Even before his first suspected suicide try last month, Jeffrey Epstein was perhaps the most high-profile inmate in the federal jail system: a politically-connected financier accused of sexually abusing dozens of underage girls. He was, by all accounts, the kind of inmate that should have been under the closest possible supervision.

Instead, Epstein was taken off suicide watch in the days before he took his own life, officials told NBC News, a decision that baffled former wardens and veterans of the federal prison system.

"For them to pull him off suicide watch is shocking,” Cameron Lindsay, a former warden who worked at three federal facilities, told NBC News. “For someone this high-profile, with these allegations and this many victims, who has had a suicide attempt in the last few weeks, you can take absolutely no chances. You leave him on suicide watch until he’s out of there.”

Epstein, 66, was placed on suicide watch after he was found passed out in his jail cell with marks on his neck inside the Metropolitan Correctional Center on July 23, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The conditions would have required him to be moved to a special bare-bones cell where he would be outfitted in a tear-resistant one-piece smock and receive stepped-up observation from a staffer or inmate posted outside, according to Lindsay and sources familiar with Epstein’s case.

But Epstein’s status was changed sometime in the last two weeks for reasons that remain unknown, officials told NBC News. The decision would normally have to have been authorized by the jail’s suicide prevention program coordinator, who is ordinarily the institution’s chief psychologist, and approved by the warden.

“Once an inmate has been placed on watch, the watch may not be terminated, under any circumstance, without the program coordinator or designee performing a face-to-face evaluation,” according to the federal Bureau of Prison official guidelines issued in 2007.

No. The search warrant (pursuant to his most recent arrest) was issued in connection with his criminal prosecution. There will be no criminal prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein after his death, and his estate cannot assert any rights that he could not assert.

Here is a screenshot of the post by Lynne Patton on Instagram.

I just finished writing my two senators and congressional representative requesting that they demand she be fired. I hope some of you will do the same.

Unless, of course, you enlarge the conspiracy to also make the evidence disappear.

More than that. She's Mark Meadow's African American federal office holder who proves Trump isn't a racist.

I cannot venture a guess with this Justice Department, Trump judges, Trump Supreme Court. It am mystified why none of Epstein's enablers (recruiters) and "johns" weren't charged along with Epstein in the SDNY. Maybe those indictments are in the works. The government might claim that the materials seized pursuant to the warrant are being used in "ongoing investigations." If nobody else is charged, during normal times, I suspect the information would eventually become available in civil cases and eventually revealed. Even under those circumstances, it might take years.

We don't know what we don't know. It wouldn't surprise me if Epstein had more dirt on more people besides that which is germane to this particular case.

I'm thinking of PI/Hollywood fixer/strong arm man Anthony Pellicano, who ended up being sent away for about fifteen years on what he was convicted of. But he had piles of other dirt, involving dozens of clients - not just Hollywood celebs, but legal firms and studios used his services, too.

Pellicano made it clear he wasn't going to talk, wasn't going to try for a deal. And he didn't. He did his time and kept his mouth shut - and when he was released, grateful clients and other big shots made the money rain down.

The difference is, Pellicano didn't move in the same elevated circles as Epstein did. Epstein probably had a lot of stories he could've told, had he been inclined.

Hmmm..

This needs to be tied firmly back to Meadows and the prop incident. Some Diamond and Silk snark might be appropriate as well.

The local NBC reporter from NYC reported that Epstein was meeting with his attorneys up to 8hrs./day outside of his cell. The great Julie Brown of the Miami Herald asks if he was transferring money around recently, did he make a will in the last few days?

This prison has successfully contained El Chapo (so far) but was out-maneuvered by Epstein?

Five key words here: "which included a conspiracy count."

This is the SDNY's way of saying: this ain't over and nobody who helped Epstein traffic and rape children should breathe easy.

Occam's razor says (to me) that Epstein just couldn't face his future, especially given his past ways of getting out of jams..

But I still get the feeling that something is hinky with 'suicide' happening in prison with all that was known about him..
