The Feds want to seize his NYC mansion. It's not clear to me if the acts covered under the 2008 plea agreement are included here. The criminal behavior in this one goes back to 2002. Two employees and associates are mentioned as being a part of a conspiracy. I would say further indictments are coming.
Edit: I gather from reading Adam Klasfeld's Twitter stream they involved different girls in the same time period.

From at least 2002, up to and including 2005, in the Southern District of New York and elsewhere, JEFFREY EPSTEIN, the defendant, and others known and unknown, willfully and knowingly did combine, conspire, confederate, and agree together and with each other to commit an offense against the United States, to wit, sex trafficking of minors, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1591 (a) and (b).
Yeah, there will be more shoes dropping.

Thanks, RC. I've been trying to get it for the last hour. PACER says the file is still sealed. Where did you get it?

It looks like a hack job, cellphone photographed by someone with access.

But why would it be sealed on PACER?

There's always a delay between when something gets done and when it appears on PACER.

It is sitting on some clerk's desk waiting for them to press the appropriate button.

Is this the current indictment or the old one? I don't see a date, and everything referenced in it is from 2002-2005

Look at the file number: 19-crim-490. What I want to know is this - what is the statute of limitations for these crimes? For most Federal crimes the SOL is 6 years.

Alex Acosta's resignation should be on the President's desk by the close of business. Failing that, he should be fired. This press conference was nothing if not a direct, public rebuke of a Trump-appointed Labor Secretary (as SDFL US Attorney) by a Trump-appointed US Attorney, something that I cannot imagine would have taken place without at least giving Attorney General Barr the heads up.

Also, Democrats can and should make political hay out of it if Trump does not instantly demand Acosta's head. "This President fires an FBI Director who investigates Russian involvement in his campaign, but he doesn't fire a Labor Secretary who gives billionaire sex traffickers a pass."

From my monitoring of news on this since Saturday night, the Federal SOL on sex trafficking was abolished in 2002. That's probably why you see that as the starting point. SOL on other federal crimes run from 5 to 10 years, with some exceptions.

Popehat has cited 18 U.S. Code § 3299, which seems to provide that there that there is no statute of limitations for child abduction and sex offenses.

I wondered about the “19” but didn’t know if that referenced the year or something else.

But if this is the current indictment, is there something more than just a re-statement of his previous charges with added forfeiture? Seems kind of weak if that’s all there is.

Rachel Maddow could do at least two complete shows on Epstein. His crimes are relatively simple, but his connections and the corruption are byzantine.

One tidbit is that Epstein, apparently with no college degree at the time, was hired as a teacher at a prestigious NYC private school, Dalton. The next year, the headmaster of Dalton precipitously resigned. His name was Donald Barr, and he is the father of Bill Barr. There is an article from 1974 in the NYT about this resignation. There is nothing in there about Epstein or any improprieties, instead the hot headed Donald Barr loathed the Board of the school interfering with his autocratic rule.

Then there's The Vanity Fair piece written by Vicky Ward in 2011. https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2003/03 ... ein-200303 She maintains that there was material in there about Epstein's abuse of young girls, but that material was cut by Graydon Carter. In any event, it's a good read.

Acosta should not only be immediately fired, but there should be a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding that non-prosecution agreement.

I don't trust Bill Barr to have not engineered this indictment to finally snag some Democrats. It is so sad when you cannot trust the motives of a seemingly righteous indictment by the SDNY.

Finally, I am watching the bail hearing later today with great interest. No set time for it.
