Paul Manafort, who already lost his law license in Connecticut, is on the path to disbarment in DC — the Board on Professional Responsibility just released its recommendation. Ultimately the DC Court of Appeals decides whether to disbar an attorney https://assets.documentcloud.org/docume ... Report.pdf

Manafort has been suspended in DC since the disciplinary counsel's office reported his guilty plea — Manafort hasn't responded to the bar proceedings in DC
The DC Court of Appeals disbarred him today.

HuffPo
U.S. Government Moves To Take Paul Manafort’s Trump Tower Apartment

The former Trump campaign chairman was convicted of tax evasion and conspiracy to obstruct justice.

The U.S. government has formally moved to seize control of the Trump Tower apartment of Paul Manafort, a convicted felon and former Trump campaign chairman, according to court filings on Friday obtained by HuffPost.

As part of a plea deal with special counsel Robert Mueller, Manafort was forced to forfeit five of his New York properties to the government, including an apartment in Trump Tower, all totaling an estimated $22 million, The New York Times reported in September 2018.

Manafort, 70, also agreed to give up money in three bank accounts and his life insurance policy. According to Zillow, Manafort’s Trump Tower apartment is estimated at $2.5 million.

Manafort’s criminal trials stem from Mueller’s investigation into Russian election interference and Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. In a criminal trial in Virginia in August 2018, the former Trump campaign manager was found guilty on five counts of tax fraud, one count of failing to report foreign bank accounts and two counts of bank fraud.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.

Wasn't he going to get a pardon or something? Asking for a friend.

Makes me think of the old adage, marrying your mistress only creates an opening in the position. I'll bet Melania thought it would be different with her, as well.

See, they don't think it'll EVER happen to them, even in the face of overwhelming evidence that it is inevitable.

Paul Manafort's Trump Tower condo has been formally forfeited to the U.S. government, The Hill reports.

The government also seized money in Manfort's Capitol One and Federal Savings Bank accounts, and his Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance policy.
And no pardon yet from President Dumpster Fire. :swoon:

Ahaha! Manafort being transferred to Rikers Island while he awaits new charges. Definitely not a country club and exactly what Manafort deserves. Karma

Cross posting from the Hannity thread, h/t Kendra. The link is to a bunch of texts between Hannity and Manafort and was filed today as part of the government's sentencing memorandum. (Spoiler: Manafort violated the gag order repeatedly by feeding information to Hannity):

New tonight: Rick Gates is still cooperating with the govt – he may testify in the upcoming trials for Greg Craig and Roger Stone, plus Paul Manafort next year in state court in NY – but in the meantime the lawyers want to get the presentencing process started

Slightly O T, and h/t to Maddow, but lol.

Paul Manafort’s life has changed a lot since the ’90s. It’s safe to say that this true for many people. Most people, however, don’t go on to work as campaign manager for a future president of the United States, only to end up convicted of federal crimes in two jurisdictions; most people don’t then get brought up on state charges out of fears that the president might consider a pardon.

On a lighter note, Manafort’s wife Kathleen Manafort, was once a contestant on the throwback Nickelodeon game show, What Would You Do?

The contestants were weighing their purses and were told that the person with the heaviest purse would get a “little prize.” That prize ended up being pies in the face. Kathleen Manafort’s purse was the lighter one and so she did not get pies thrown at her face. Paul Manafort watched all of this unfold from the crowd.

BuzzFeed News - Christopher Miller
I Got A Text From A Russian Wanted By The FBI About Trump’s Impeachment Inquiry

“DC does not give a shit about Ukraine. It is a tool in their political fight. An object. A dildo with which Dems and GOP fuck each other,” Konstantin Kilimnik told BuzzFeed News.

KYIV — Late on Thursday, as I was stuck aboard a train traveling halfway across Ukraine, I sent messages over WhatsApp to a few sources to see whether they’d been following the impeachment investigation in Washington, and to hear their thoughts on the matter. Almost immediately the source I least expected to hear from wrote back.

It was Konstantin Kilimnik, and he quickly launched into a profanity-laced diatribe, blasting the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump, arguing that a former National Security Council official who spoke about him during her testimony as part of the inquiry last month didn’t know what she was talking about, and claiming that special counsel Robert Mueller was all wrong about him.

If you’re one of the seemingly few people who read Mueller’s full report, you may remember Kilimnik’s name. He’s Paul Manafort’s short and shadowy former business partner and fixer in Ukraine who the FBI said had ties to Russia’s military intelligence agency. You might also recognize Kilimnik as the person who Manafort associate Rick Gates told Mueller's team had pushed the CrowdStrike conspiracy theory.
