Holy crap. I did not know all of this. Lauren Boebert has a long rap sheet.

And this is exactly why Fox "News" was invented - to discredit and demonize Democrats so that it would not matter how utterly criminal, whack-job, or otherwise inappropriate the Republican candidate is - voters will vote for the known criminal whack job Republican because Democrats are..."criminal", "socialist" or some other unwanted (and totally unproven) -ist.

Note from the micro-expression file:

As a proponent of safe gun ownership, it's MORONS like this that make us all look bad and she needs to behave like a human, not a slobbering idiot.

Fits with their ethos though. They often prioritize their feelings over other people's facts, so it makes sense that to them a democrat being some kind of vague 'criminal' who hurts them emotionally is more dangerous than actual criminals that make them feel good.

Twitter lifted Boebert's ban today. She's tweeting again.

How soon before she is suspended again? Two days? One? Two hours?

If Twitter finally found the courage to ban Trump, banning a mere congresscritter won't be a bid step.

Boebert can afford a gun but apparently not child seats for her children while driving them around.

Everyone knows that child seats are a left-wing, deep state conspiracy to rob us of our constitutional right to endanger our children.

Although I live in the 7th Congressional District (Ed Perlmutter is my Representative), I was subjected to Lauren Boebert's election ads last fall. If you haven't been convinced by now that she is a vacuous Qanon nitwit, I submit Exhibit A of a Colorado pistol-packing momma.

Its target audience....old, conservative white guys.

She doesn't need child safety seats because she has a gun. Guns fix everything.

Not really related to child safety seats, but I remember a story a couple of years ago, about a woman whose child was sitting right behind her and found the loaded 45 automatic that the woman had left laying on the back seat. The kid shot her through the back of the front seat.

Fortunately, she was not seriously injured. Just about any gunshot is serious, but IIRC her wounds were not life-threatening.

Actually, come to think of it, the kid was sitting in a safety seat, so I'm not completely off-topic.

I am always amazed at the cavalier attitude some gun nuts have about gun safety or even gun care. They really have no respect for the object they claim to adore.

Well... Boebert shows no respect for the safety of others, or even herself. She is probably more likely to get COVID in the House Chamber than be shot by an attacker but it is the gun she demands to keep, and the mask she refuses to wear. Unfortunately, despite her and other gun nut protestations, their gun obsession is not about protection but about intimidation.

That's exactly right. If I get into a head-on while I'm driving over the speed limit and they go through the windshield, it was God's will.

A couple civil things, a couple charges for shooting someone the bird, and a bunch of traffic stuff. She's apparently an obnoxious bitch, but "rap sheet" seems like a stretch. Is there even anything on there that rises to misdemeanor level?

I have a half brother who I've never met who has about twice that many entries in the WI Courts web pages. These are since his 18th birthday, btw. Most are small things. Mary Jane at first. Then DUI. The final one involved a DUI and him ending up in prison for several years. For some reason the State of Wisconsin ended up sending him to Tennessee to serve his sentence. Little things add up. They also show the character of the person.

I thought the question was, "is there anything that rises to the misdemeanor level?". Whether or not she was convicted, that seemed like a misdemeanor. All the rest of the driving shit indicates she probably shouldn't be driving, let alone with her kids unsecured and a fun in her purse.

Charged as a class 1 misdemeanor in CO.
Other Traffic Offenses
8. Careless driving. A person who drives a motor vehicle, electrical assisted
bicycle, or low-powered scooter in a careless and imprudent manner, without
due regard for the width, grade, curves, corners, traffic, or use of the streets
and highways and all other attendant circumstances, commits careless
driving, which is a class 1 misdemeanor traffic offense when the actions are
the proximate cause of bodily injury or death to another.
42-4-1402 (2) (b) and
(c)
A driver who fails to properly exhibit due care and caution while approaching
or passing a stationary authorized emergency vehicle that is giving a visual
signal commits careless driving, which is a class 1 misdemeanor traffic
offense when the actions are the proximate cause of bodily injury or death to
another.
