I do have to wonder about the intelligence of someone who would dope a horse running in the Kentucky Derby.

Now, sadly for Mr Baffert, he's got a history of doping. But....it could have been someone else who doped his horse and he'd still get blamed. But no one would believe he's innocent, because he's got a history of doping.

I think there's a movie plot in there somewhere.

I'm sure Baffert wasn't holding the syringe.

But I'm also sure that whatever dosing happened with Baffert's knowledge and approval.
You'd think with five failed drug tests in the past year on his horses he'd be a little more careful.

He should definitely retain Klayman or possibly Wood to defend him.

Oh no thanks LOL.

I have a neighbour with 2 peacocks on one side, and a next door but one has a peacock and two peahens. Well, at least, she HAD a peacock and two peahens, but this neighbour thought that 'free range' meant letting one's peafowl roam the countryside. She's now down to one peahen, since one apparently turned into a coyote's dinner. It's not just that the peacocks are loud, it's that they are loud at all hours of the day AND night.

The tiger that got loose in Houston and then went missing has been found and is safe.

That's a very happy, smiling gator. He's thrilled to be in the photo with your boy. 8-)

That's a healthy looking young gator he's got there.

You did hide it from unregistered guests, a/k/a lurkers. To hide it from everybody (but then anybody can see it by clicking on the button) you put it under the "spoil" tag - the one of an eye with a black line slashing diagonally.

Cambodia’s landmine-sniffing ‘hero rat’ retires after five years of service

South China Morning Post
Published on 10 Jun 2021

Magawa, the landmine-sniffing “hero rat”, completed his last mission on May 31, 2021 and has retired after five years of service in Cambodia. The African giant pouched rat was awarded by the UK-based veterinary charity, People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA), a gold medal in 2020 for his “life-saving bravery and devotion to duty”. During the span of his career, Magawa detected 71 landmines and 38 items of unexploded ordnance, according to the charity group APOPO, which trains rats and dogs to detect landmines as well as tuberculosis. Cambodia has one of the world’s highest numbers of mine amputees per capita, with more than 40,000 people left disabled from landmines, PDSA said.

Oh, I remember posting about him when he received the award! He's kinda cute for a rat.

Rats can also sniff out Covid!

Obviously testing at the introductory level, since there's no collection at all. Still, a nice looking animal, could go a long way, possibly even Gran Prix with training.

Whenever we have out-of-town company, we head down to the Glades for an airboat ride. Included is a photo op with a baby gator, so I did my part. (I'm kind of fascinated by these prehistoric creatures). You wouldn't think it to look at them but they are really soft and squishy, especially the tail, which is the part they fry up as an appetizer.

Also too, I really love these animal threads. Usually I surf them before bed, but after reading this morning's news, I felt I needed a booster shot.

Comet (Nejed Nijm Zarik) and George. George isn't allowed outside anymore, not since the bald eagle tried to get him, but he always enjoyed watching Comet getting worked in the round pen.

The moose could do well in dressage with those long legs!
