So how does this work, exactly? If you're a volunteer troop, you have to elect your captain, you but you still have to serve if you don't agree with the choice?

It makes me think of that cereal commercial where the kids are saying "Let Mikey try it".

If Ammon ordered Karl to take out the garbage, it would probably be listed on his Patriot resume.

President Trump is taking his oath of office very seriously by ensuring that all oaths of office in America are administered legally. According to the White House Director of Information and Propaganda, Art Tubolls, says the problem is widespread:

“There are people from illegitimate religions popping up all over Congress and at the state level. They want to take their oaths on the Bible book like Obama did in 2008.

The problem is, the Constantinople Clause says that Christianity must be observed for oaths ‘lest they have no meaning.’ This isn’t about church and state. This is about assigning Christian morals and ideals where appropriate in our Christian society. If you can’t take an oath on a bible, you can’t serve this country. Period.”

The Supreme Court split in the typical way we can get used to it splitting this morning in a 5-4 decision to nullify Congressional Oaths taken on the Quran and other mythical texts. According to Chief Justice Roberts, the law is clear. He wrote in his opinion:

In her dissent, Ruth Bader Ginsburg wrote:
“This is, once again, a complete crock of doody.
The Constitution holds that no religious test be applied to the members of Congress. This entire session is a waste of time and a travesty to this country and its founders, who are surely rolling over in their graves.”

Why is CA fed land so big and TX is so small?
CA has land worth owning.
That's what bothered me. CA vs NV or western CO. The fed in most states doesn't seem to keep the land that's worth much. In CA, OTOH it looks to be all national parks and wilderness areas.

Because Texas started out as Mexico, and then the Republic of Texas (or whatever it was called) and all (or at least most) the land had been granted by the Spanish and/or the Republic of Texas before Texas became a part of the U.S. In other Western states, all the land started as being owned by the U.S. as territories and was granted to the Railroads, homesteaders, etc., but leaving a lot left over which is still owned by the feds.

Objection. Alta California was part of Mexico and, for about 5 minutes after the Bear Flag Revolt, it was the California Republic, before becoming a U.S. Territory.

We also, too, were divided up amongst Mexican land grants.

I my own self live on what was, in the early 1800s, the Rancho Ojo de Agua de la Coche.

I'm only guessing, but it seems like storage charges are $50 per day per vehicle. Retrieving after hours costs extra and must be arranged in advance.
Looks like he is being charged storage fees of $35/day for the motorcycle and $70/day for the OpVec.

$70/day for the Op-Vec is a bargain, considering how much space that monstrosity occupies.

Rancho Ojo de Agua de la Coche was a 8,927-acre (3,613 ha) Mexican land grant in present-day Santa Clara County, California given in 1835 by Governor José Figueroa to Juan María Hernandez.[1] The name means "pig's spring". The grant extended south from Rancho Laguna Seca (Alvires) between Coyote Creek and Llagas Creek, and encompassed present-day Morgan Hill.[2][3][4]

In my "neighborhood"

Rancho Cañada de los Coches was a 28-acre (0.11 km2) Mexican land grant in present day San Diego County, California given in 1843 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Apolinaria Lorenzana. This small land grant was located just west of Flinn Springs and in the center of Rancho El Cajon. The San Diego Mission fathers formerly watered their swine in dry seasons at a little spring arising from subterranean sources, thus giving it its name of "Glen of the Hogs". The site is now registered as California Historical Landmark #425.[1]

eta

Rancho Los Coches was a 2,219-acre (8.98 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Santa Clara County, California given in 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Roberto Balemino, an Indian.[1] The name means Ranch of the Pigs. The grant was located on the west bank of Los Gatos Creek, south of San Jose, near the present-day Burbank.[2][3][4]

Yup. Pig springs. I live a stones throw from the SW border at Llagas Creek.

Later, when the land was purchased by Martin Murphy it was known as Murphy Springs, then, when he gave some of it to his daughter Diana & SIL Hiram Morgan Hill, visitors would ask the train to stop at Morgan Hill's ranch.

There you have the entire history of Morgan Hill, CA, where there is no federal land, but ICE does have a very small detention facility because MHPD told 'em to fuck off when they wanted to use their holding cells.

Yep, DMV takes so long. I never plan ahead and make appointments and by the time I remember to try to make an appointment, it would be 1 or 2 months AFTER my stuff expires. :blackeye:

I wasted most of the day in Colorado Springs once. I got the idea they should put blood pressure cuffs on the chairs. That way they could call the next person before they explode.

And a bar. Cocktail lounge.

Karl probably feels that the OpVec has served its purpose and now he needs a sturdier vehicle for his treacherous and seditious fantasies.

I'm not sure that a flamethrower tank is an "arm" that he can "bear". I'd like to see him put it on his back. If he can carry it, he can have it!

Karl is going to need to quadruple his AMFF in order to operate a single M1.
